Why Outsourcing HR Makes Sense with Budgets Under Pressure

Outsourcing your businesses HR function is an efficient way to add value and contain cost in a difficult economic climate. Small to medium sized businesses need access to high quality, up to date HR information without the requirement for a full time HR manager.

Outsourcing HR gives businesses access to a dedicated HR Manger for as many days a month as required, with telephone support outside that time.
The HR support can be tailored to whatever level is appropriate for your current business requirements. This can range from simple employment contracts, to devising and implementing training programmes to HR strategic planning and board level mentoring.

If you are considering outsourcing HR, planning is essential.

Clarity of Purpose
Ensure that you are crystal clear about what and why you want to outsource your HR – you will receive the quality and level of service that you define and absolute clarity at the outset is key.

Establish Criteria to Select Your HR Provider
You should consider some key aspects of the service including your chosen provider’s – flexibility, credentials, track-record, relevance to your business.

Do Your Research
Do ask for references and follow these up very carefully, a sound provider should have no problem in giving you a range of relevant contacts and case studies on which to base your decision.

Relationship is Key
Whilst your provider should demonstrate their practical competence to do the job, for the relationship to work, it is vital that you share common values and trust that they will deliver the service in a way which is compatible with your own approach to managing your business.

Also make sure that you know who is to deliver the service – this matters both in terms of working relationships with individuals and the working arrangement between the consultant and your provider (i.e. are they an employee of your provider or are they merely an associate?)

Transparency
Do not proceed without a written Service Level Agreement that is transparent in terms of both content, cost and duration (watch out for the small print that prevents you from exiting the arrangement if it is not working for you!)

When you have selected your HR provider, work with them to introduce their service to your own employees throughout your business to ensure that everyone is clear of the terms of the service and what it will provide for them.

Add Value to Your Business Not Cost!
Make sure that you find a provider who will enable you to grow and develop your business rather than simply providing a reactive service to meet today’s people problems.

A good HR provider will add value to your business by their ability to contribute to your strategic business planning thus enhancing the quality of your decision making.

Time spent at the outset choosing your HR partner will reap benefits for both parties.”

Re: Finance - Budgeting Re: Finance - Budgeting - Hi, Budgets are an essential but often missused and abused part of business especially in the early days. It is very easy to dip into capital reserves at the risk of the business if accurate and realistic budgets are not set and adhered to. regards, Mal.
Affiliates vs selling your own material Affiliates vs selling your own material - [quote:1w85dxq6]I will check into the few mentioned other affilliate programs, anyone have any other suggestions?[/quote:1w85dxq6] Rather than using an affiliate (other than Google Ad Sense, which works well,at least for me) , why not write pamphlets or How to Books of your own, and sell them on your site. Then, when you get a purchase, *you* get the full purchase price, not just a small percentage, which is what you get as an affiliate...
Re: Stopping Drive-by Spam Re: Stopping Drive-by Spam - I've also noticed that in this and other forums. I wonder why they do it that way. Makes it easier to catch them. I suppose it's probably just laziness. I've even seen the same person spam the same thread multiple times one after another with the exact same post. I guess that just how stupid some of these spammers are!!!
Re: What is your biggest challenge? Today? Re: What is your biggest challenge? Today? - Outsourcing and time management, but I'm continually making progress.
How does one suggest improvements to inventions How does one suggest improvements to inventions - and get paid for them? I'm sure people write in and complain and suggest new features for various things they buy... and if those changes are implemented that's all well and good, but the person who made the suggestion for the improvment isn't going to get paid for it. How does one suggest these improvements - and get paid for them? ----long story One of the best things the PC did (at least, Dell) was to color code all their little plugs, so you know that the green plug goes into the green hole, the pink into the pink, etc. Makes setting up those things a heckuva lot easier! I was thinking that the same thing should be done for today's TVs! I've had a new TV for a few weeks, set up next to my computer because I like to work and watch TV at the same time. But I've got it set up in such a way that I can't see all the little buttons on the top of the screen, which are the buttons for Stop, Play, Eject (for the internal DVD) , the Volume up and down, and the Channel up and down. Of course, that wasn't a problem when my remote control worked, but for some reason it stopped working a couple of weeks ago. (Yes, I replaced the battery - no good). Since I have the TV so close to my computer it's no problem, I can reach out and touch the buttons... But because they're all the same color, I had to actually get up and look at them to make sure I was pressing the right button. I've solved that problem by attaching a bit of yellow paper to the Play button, and a bit of orange paper to the Volume Up button. Makes things a lot easier...
