Starting a blog, creating a facebook and a twitter account is just not enough to gain success in social media. Most people think that by sending requests, publishing updates and liking pages will not help you in gaining instant success. Social media is more than just a buzzword. There are opportunities and measurable results that it offers that can be extremely beneficial to companies of all sizes. While Facebook and Twitter may be included it's more than that. Listed below are 5 tips that can mean instant success for your business.

1) Make it plain and simple - Although the content is the most important thing in any social media marketing, the way you communicate with your audience also has a lot of contribution towards creating an impact on your prospected clients. The people need to feel that you are easily accessible and approachable in all your social media communications, using a friendly tone in your words will generally attract more eyes to your accounts. Talk in such a way with the people that it invites them to a conversation. Communicate the same to your employees, who are handling the social media scenario, provide them with simple guidelines that enable them to talk about the business in a non threatening way.

2) Write what people want to read - No one is really interested in reading a 1000 word article about why your business is so great, you have to please the readers above anything else otherwise your blog or fan page will be deserted, if you manage to hold on to readers then you can ease them into what you are offering. The more appealing your content is, the more likely it is that your number of readers will increase.

3) Target Audience - Identify and filter your target audience, eventually these will be the people who are your brand ambassadors and the people who will do the word of mouth marketing. Ignoring such a person can mean disaster for you, be nice and conduct all talks in a friendly manner reassuring your audience that you understand their needs and wants.

4) Centralize Marketing - All your marketing functions should work hand in hand in order to make the social media a success for your business. Do not mislead them about your brand or your products. Be clear and concise and try to achieve your marketing goals in that way. All your marketing tactics should synchronize in such a way that the process is smooth for you and your prospected clients. A key is to keep a comparison before your clients of you and your competitors and let them make a choice of who is better.

5) Make your path - Don't follow the competition, be innovative and come up with your own ways of social media marketing. Following your competitors will have a negative impact on your prospected clients. Do not fall for the pressure of the competitors and don't do anything which you don't want to. Keep your goal in mind before deciding to do the same thing.

These are some of pointers that can mean instant success on social media for your business.
