Success Starts with Self Awareness

Every manager, every employee and every leader that has any drive at all strive to be successful. Success starts with self awareness. That means understanding your personal strengths and weaknesses. It also means having enough humility to work on those weaknesses.

Both the Democrats and the Republicans were preaching change in our last presidential election. I only mention that because I really like the buzz words --- "Yes We Can" that have been used by both campaigns. You see, I believe that everyone can achieve success and realize their maximum potential. I make that statement in spite of the statistic published by several experts that claim only 20% of individuals today actually perform up to their own potential. I believe you can beat those odds. However, the first thing you have to do is define what success really means to you. Once that is accomplished, follows these guidelines and success and getting what you want from life will be much easier.

• Reach bottom, get frustrated, and decide that you have had enough of not realizing or meeting your goals and objectives. Being impatient with your own performance will create a sense of urgency. You need a sense of urgency to light a fire in your belly.

• Decide exactly what you want to accomplish and write it down. These are called goals. Create a success picture board that has visuals of what your personal success looks like. A big promotion, a new house, a new car, a luxurious vacation, whatever...

• Document your success plan. What steps must you take? In what order should you take them? Who can help you, coach you or mentor you. Make them part of your plan.

• Now --- execute your plan. Make adjustments as necessary. Communicate your goals and desires to others without being arrogant or cocky.

• Have faith in your own ability. If you stumble or fall, get up and keep going. Never hive up. Persistence alone can create success. Everybody has setbacks and failures. Learn from them. Don't use them as an excuse and make a commitment to not have any pity parties.

• Seek advice and input. Hang out and associate with only positive successful people. Don't let the naysayers discourage you.

While it may be macho to live without direction in the short-term, in the long-term we all need a purpose and direction. Goals give us a sense of direction and purpose to life. It may be easier to allow our work, our boss, our friends and even our enemies set our direction in life. However, the reality of the situation is that if we don't set personal goals then we will find it much too easy to allow others to dictate the path we take. This is true even if you are the President or the CEO of your company. Simply put, it doesn't matter, without personal goals you won't have any chance to take control over your destiny.

Re: Hi there Re: Hi there - Welcome to the forum It Starts with you Prepare Doing business online is not much different than doing business offline, except for the obvious differences; location, brick and mortar, leases, licenses, signage, business cards and letter head, etc. First Advise: Prepare: It is not a simple, single step, sign up. we do all the work for you and sit back and collect your money process What do you already know about business and it its various functions, products and pricing, sales and marketing, distribution, after sales support, etc. You need a plan(s); plan for your business, plan for your marketing, a financial plan and a personal action plan. what do you and your business need and where are you going to get it. Most offline business start from an interest, a hobby or a passion. (sure you get buy a franchise and they train you, but this is going to be your business) Online should not be much different : What is your passion? [quote="galuhsitra":3vf2qp5q]I dont have specific skill i think.. I love swimming, reading, and all about cats.. I love animals, mountains, and water..[/quote:3vf2qp5q] Then Google find product or services that help fulfill your passion. Pick perhaps 3 or 4 and do your own due diligence, Join 1 or 2 and take responsible for your decision You are at a great advantage that you found us (EvanCarmichael) with your question. Move around the site, look at other tabs, subjects etc. Plenty of help and expertise here for free.
Starting a New Business Starting a New Business - Congratulations on the first step of deciding to create your own business. First, you have to ascertain if you are going to be selling your products or services to people or to businesses. People purchase products and services for three basic reasons: •To satisfy basic needs •To solve problems •To make themselves feel good. You have to determine which of these three categories your product or service is the solution to. Businesses, unlike individuals, buy products and services for three reasons as well: •To increase revenues •To maintain the status quo •To decrease expenses. Knowing the reasons why people/businesses buy, you should have a picture emerging of who you think your "Target Market" (or ideal customer) is. Once you have zeroed in on your solution, you are ready to create your Marketing Strategy. If you look at any company that has grown rapidly over the past few years, (i.e. WestJet and Starbucks), it should demonstrate to you the importance of Marketing. In simple terms these companies have: •Clearly defined what makes them different; •Who their ideal customer is; •How to reach them; •Why customers should buy from them; •And most importantly why customers should come back again. It is strong Marketing Awareness that singles out the best companies. I can not stress enough how important it is to create a "living" Marketing Plan before you even start. I hope this helps a little in the creation of your plan. All the very best of luck. Remember: "A Goal without a Plan is just a Wish" Miles of Smiles, Marketing Maven
Re: Success Re: Success - I study success intently, and would like to share: Here's two excellent and nearly identical success-formulas from a couple of the world's masters. FIRST FORMULA: 1. Passionate Desire 2. Clear, Definite Purpose 3. Committed Decision 4. Take Action In Faith (Bonus Secret Sauce: 5. Repeat Consistently) I made a video about this, but am not allowed to link it yet. Google "Ryze Success Steps" for it. Oh, and this is Napoleon Hill's (Master Of Success Laws)'s Formula. SECOND FORMULA: 1. Passionate Desire 2. Understand It Is Already Done (Faith) 3. Relax & Allow It To Unfold (Go about your life calmly) This one is courtesy of Abraham-Hicks (inspiration for the movie The Secret). Hope that helps!
Success Strategies Success Strategies - How to get the results you want now? Success Strategies and Action Steps I have used are: The Power of Choice Where you are at this present moment, is exactly perfect from the choices you have made. If you want to be somewhere else, you have to decide clearly what that is (your goal/outcome) and create action steps to achieve this. The Power of Focus The book "The Power of Focus" by Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen and Les Hewitt, is one of my treasures in my Entrepreneur Library. If you focus on what you want versus what you do not want, your conscious and sub-conscious mind will direct attention to this. The movie, What the Bleep, Down the Rabbit Hole, explains this in detail about quantum physics and what we create in our lives. The Power of Commitment This is not about commitment to others. The first step is the commitment, your word, you make to yourself. Accountability and responsibility are additional success strategies and ingredients to creating the success, defined by you, that you want. The commitment to others reflects your integrity, your word and the team you work with. Co-workers, clients, yoru family, friends and community. My Success Acronyn in Success Breakthroughs(c) is: S pecific & self-directed U nlimited opportunities & possibilities C reate powerful outcomes C onsistent measureable results E xperience pwoerful transformation S olution and action-oriented S uccessful habits and outcomes Break Through to Powerful LIfestyle & Performance Choices Moira
