You’re Not An Employee – You’re a Guest

Here's something that has been forgotten, overlooked - or just simply unrealized in the workplace: You're a guest. Think about it: You're an intern, employee, freelancer or anything else at the invitation of your employer. And, if you can be invited, you can be uninvited, too. Our goal? To be great guests, naturally. After all, if you're at a dinner party and dazzle your companions with your witty banter and funny jokes, you know it's only a matter of time before you're swamped with invitations - because we all want to have people we know, like, and trust at our gatherings. The same rule applies in the workplace - because people do business with people they know, like, and trust.

So, are you a great guest on the job? Are you known? (How is your networking going these days?) Are you liked? (How are you building relationships with clients over the long-term?) Are you trusted? (What would your boss, your clients, your coworkers say about you?)

Chances are good that most of us already think that we are fine guests. We assume that if we weren't, someone would tell us. Careful, there - after all, if one of your dinner guests got mud all of your white carpet, are you really going to call him up the next day to tell him how annoyed you are? Don't assume that anyone will tell you that your guest skills aren't up to snuff - it's up to you to ask (delicately), get feedback (graciously), and make improvements (consistently). Great guests are made, not born - it's up to us to become them.

Re: What is the Best Franchise? Re: What is the Best Franchise? - As a franchise owner the things that I look for in a prospective franchise is: 1- A proven track record. Too many franchises try and branch out long before they have perfected their product, don't become a guinea pig for them to figure out what works and what doesnt. 2- Support. A good franchise should have great communication with it's franchisee's and be available to meet it's franchisees needs. Youre only contact with them shouldn't be when you have a problem. Good franchises involves it's franchisees in building it's business. 3- A Great System. McDonald's doesn't exactly make a good hamburger but they have an excellent system of conducting business. The real value in a franchise is the system, not necessarily the product. There are many other factors in deciding on a franchise but many of those are personal to you and your situation. The best thing to do is to conduct as much research as possible and speak with every current franchisee you can and get a feel for the franchise. garyshouldis.com
Re: The Best Websites to Publish Your Articles Re: The Best Websites to Publish Your Articles - I think we should not forget to say about Guest Posting here. Guest posting in popular blogs are always the best place to publish your articles. Though article submission sites are there at one side, doing a guest post in a popular blog gives you the immediate results. That definitely redirects you new readers from that guest blog to yours, if you have a related blog then it works great. Of course, guest posting builds good relationship with other marketers and experts. This helps you to achieve a growth for the long term. Thanks.
Post subject: It's Not Personal, just business Post subject: It's Not Personal, just business - I so agree! Actually, the business world as we know it IS in trouble. I heard some stats last week that they expect by the time 2050 that 70% of workers will be freelancers. Employee/Executive Bullying won't be able to stand it when it could be easier for someone to simply contract with the nicer guy (or gal). I, for one, will be choosing the nicer ones!
