Reveal Your Superpowers!

Yes. You read that correctly. Your Superpowers: go ahead and let them shine! What’s that? You don’t have any Superpowers?

If you feel this way, you aren’t alone. Most of us feel that our abilities would best be categorized under some other heading, but you do have Superpowers!

So, what are Superpowers? They are the things about you that you learned easily, or that no one had to teach you at all. They are the things you do no matter what task you are performing.

They are part of who you are as an individual. They are the things that you do without effort, that don’t drain your resources but recharge them instead! Some call them strengths, natural abilities, aptitudes, or talents, but they all mean the same thing - Superpowers!

But beware - your Superpowers can be neutralized just like Kryptonite if you don’t identify them properly! Don’t confuse what you are good at, with what you work really hard at. Many people feel that their top accomplishments are those that require them to work exceptionally hard to accomplish. Things that they have been successful at, but that they had to recover from somehow. These may be great achievements, but they are not necessarily your Superpowers!

Recruiters want to know about your strengths, natural abilities, aptitudes, and talents that bring added value to their organization, and that you have the energy to perform successfully day after day.

So first, discover your Superpowers. Take note of what you do that energizes you, listen to what you are recognized for and what people consistently come to you for. Get to know your Superpowers!

Then, reveal them! Showcase your Superpowers in your résumé and make them part of your personal brand. Celebrate, because you ARE super, and being able to identify and market your Superpowers will make all the difference to your career prospects.
