Switching-On the Human Brain
Over the years, we have covered numerous high-tech medical advances
in that allow us to better understand brain function, treat disease, and
capitalize on human ability. For years now, we have known about a low-tech
method of increasing human ability called Brain Gym®, but only
recently has one of its most effective spokespersons, Jerry Teplitz, JD, PhD, released
a book detailing business applications that increase sales and generate happier
and more productive employees.
When applied to the sales' function, the results can be startling.
Take the case of A-Active Termite and Pest Control in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Despite the gloomy financial picture, the enterprise doubled its profits in the
last year. During that same year, one of its representatives increased his
sales by over 300 percent on the company’s high-end product line.
Kevin Kordek, A-Active’s President and President of the
National Pest Management Association, attributes this huge increase in sales to
a seminar that his sales force attended. "My company is one of the few
that has been having an extremely successful year during both the recession and
recovery", said Kordek.
Teplitz, an expert in brain performance optimization, created
this unique seminar called "Switched-On
Selling". Last month, Teplitz and recognized master sales trainer
Tony Alessandra, PhD, released a book version of that seminar---"Switched-On Selling: Balance your Brain for
Sales Success".
Different from other sales trainings, the seminar and book include
the process of "brain rewiring" that Teplitz uses as an integral part
of the experience. Called Brain Gym®, Teplitz
uses simple body movements and exercises that create new connections in the
brain that allow a salesperson to eliminate their subconscious blocks to the
selling process in minutes.
Created by Dr. Paul and Gail Dennison, Brain Gym is primarily
used to help learning disabled children become more successful in school. Teplitz
adapted the material for the business arena. His extensive research shows that
even the most successful salespeople have increases in their numbers after this
seminar.
Like Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation,
Brain Gym is an example of the advancements we can expect to help us harness
the power of the human brain.
