Why use an interim solution to resolve the need for staff?

I could list several reasons here as to why employers should use an interim solution to resolve the need for staff, however, many of the key benefits revolve around the flexibility of that said resource. For example, contract durations can be as long or short-term as your business needs (a few days to many years); notice periods can be from 3 months (for long-term contracts) to immediate depending on what you feel comfortable with; and the costs you pay are all-inclusive (no benefits, holiday pay, travel expenses, no national insurances or taxes, or other hidden costs, etc.)

Immediacy: Project Resource prides ourself on being able to have a person on site within 24 hours of being notified by you. This is key for many employers, if they win a new piece of work, or have a key team member signed off sick, need to get a project back on track ASAP or perform some legal/ claims work.

Business growth: Contractors can aid in business growth, without the extra permanent staff headcount. Some companies have as many as 50%+ of their team as contracted and are very successful with this business model.

Specialist expertise: In many cases, people who choose to contract are highly qualified individuals, they contract because their skills and experiences are in demand and highly sought after or they prefer to work on assignments. It is often the cases that rare skills/ job professions lend themselves to contracting, due to the high demand and premium money that will be paid to attract and retain such experience.

Re: Entrepreneur Competition Re: Entrepreneur Competition - [quote="Evan":onrvj2s5]It doesn't have to be a SEO competition. I liked the idea because it's easy to monitor who is winning and it can be tracked. I love the idea of doing something with a marketing / business plan - how can we track it so everyone can see who is winning? It should be something as easy as the search engine challenge.[/quote:onrvj2s5] Yes, I understand what your saying. How about this, at interim times, the contestants must upload a certain portion of their business plan to the website, where it is rated by the masses? The final product can be evaluated by a judge panel. 60% of the total score could be evaluated by the expert judges on the final product, and the remaining 40% could be rated by the community when the portions are uploaded to the website at the interim points. For example, on Feb 19th the contestants send in their Operations Plan, which will be scored by the community, followed by the rest of the plan at interim points. Once the final and complete business plan is sent in, the judge panel evaluates the finished product and gives their input. After the community and judges have finished marketing the plans, the winners are announced. Let me know your thoughts.
Re: Help needed in starting a company in Patent Analysis Re: Help needed in starting a company in Patent Analysis - It is well worth while running the question about the software tool by a lawyer - particularly since the existing company is going to be harmed several fold - i.e. loss of staff, loss of customers and perhaps loss of unique rights to the tool. My gut reaction would be to name a spokesperson to speak to the senior manager about the issues - without mentioning any threats of leaving, names of your future partners, competing or use of common tools. For sure you will run into them later so it makes sense to attempt to resolve differences now and only when it becomes impossible to do so or the opportunity to create a new firm becomes so attractive that you actually do leave. I don't envy you .... Terry
Re: [JOINT VENTURE] Want FREE Staff? Want to Scale Up Massively? Re: [JOINT VENTURE] Want FREE Staff? Want to Scale Up Massively? - Hi JV, Really interesting offer. However I have 2 questions. 1) Credentials? Any website? Any client list? 2) Where do you get your staff from? How? I mean if i really am going to hand over a lot of sensitive information to be handled by staff of your choosing, I'll need to know how you operate with total transparency.
OpenAds vs. Adify? OpenAds vs. Adify? - Today I learned about an open source solution called OpenAds where you don't have to give up the 20% that Adify takes. Has anyone hear about OpenAds or used it? Does it compare to Adify? Is there a better solution out there compared to both of these?
