When writing a resume, it is important to maintain its length. The maximum acceptable length of any CV is 2 pages and anything more than that will sound ineffective and inappropriate. It is also important to keep the information precise and to the point. A resume written with exactly expected information will surely get attention from the employers. Keep in mind that they should not be too short either. Too long or too short resumes will not make any sense and will not help you in the recruitment process. Resume writing is a pretty easy task if you keep in mind these two basic things.

Importance of Precise Information in your CV

You cannot expect to get an interview call with poorly written and presented information in your CV. Employers don’t have time to go through your CV and they will immediately reject your application if the information is poorly presented or the CV is crowded with details. They will overview the initial sections and decide whether you are suitable for the position or not. Following are some important points you need to consider while writing your CV:

• Make sure that the information is precise and to the point
• Don’t beat around the bush (avoid irrelevant information)
• Do not include unnecessary details
• Start with the most appropriate job details

Remember that you cannot opt for a sloppy and unfocused writing style for writing your CV. Resume is the only ticket to make you eligible for the job interview. If you fail to sell yourself in the best possible way, you will land nowhere in the job market.

You must be clear and precise when presenting the information in your CV. Writing style plays a significant role in getting you selected for the job interview. Present all you major accomplishments and skills within two pages to make a better impact on the recruiter.

It is obvious that being very busy short listing the resumes, employers will not go through all your resume details. If they find any CV too lengthy, they will immediately discard it from the recruitment process and keep it aside. Hence, it is necessary for you to make your CV short but sweet. When writing a CV, the commonly occurring question in your mind is how you can list all your experience and accomplishment details in two pages. Remember that, you don’t have to include all your past work experiences. Employers are not interested in knowing your past work details but they are more curious to know your latest knowledge and skills. You can present the information of your recent work experiences in the corresponding section in your CV. You can limit your resume length by including the most relevant accomplishments and skills matching your applied job profile.

A precise and concise resume will always get attention from the employers. One should take care of making sufficient research to know about the prospective job profile and the company. Employers will always prefer the candidates having some knowledge or idea about the work to be performed in the company. Securing Financing - This is a short article that a friend of mine put together. He's a business banker and it seems that he would be the right person to put the info together. He compiled it for inclusion in a book about opening a pizza shop. There could be some useful info here - In order for a bank to even consider financing for a business loan such as a pizza restaurant, the first step is to have good personal credit. If you have previous credit issues that have lowered your credit scores, make sure you are prepared to either hear, “No”, or “Please explain this (these) credit marks.” If you have not demonstrated the ability to manage your own personal finances then most likely you will not have the opportunity to manage the financing from a bank for a business. When you make the initial contact with a bank, ask to speak to a commercial loan officer. Other types of loan officers include consumer (think car loans) and mortgage (think home purchases and home equity loans). The commercial loan officer will be able to provide a list of things you will need to give him/her in order to consider the restaurant financing. Information required for a new business most likely will include the following: Personal financial statement (Assets – Liabilities = Net Worth) Personal tax returns (two years) Business Plan If leasing property, copy of the lease agreement If purchasing property, copy of the sales contract Personal History / Resume (may not be required but is very helpful) If an existing business, add the following to the list above: Business tax returns (two years) Copy of State Corporation Commission Certificate Copy of Federal Tax Identification Number or Employer Identification Number (EIN) Copy of Articles of Incorporation (if corporation) Copy of Operating Agreement (if partnership) One common mistake a new business owner often makes with regard to financing is that one loan will cover all the financing needs. This is typically not the case and can lead to cash flow problems that could result in default on the loan, which is not what the lender or borrower want. In most cases, either two or sometimes three separate loans would be appropriate. For instance, if one is purchasing real estate then a long-term mortgage loan would be appropriate to finance that purchase. However, the pizza restaurant may need to purchase equipment and have cash available monthly to meet payroll and purchase rolling inventory. An equipment loan could take the form of a five or seven year loan with a fixed monthly payment much like a car loan. A line of credit, on which one would pay interest monthly on the outstanding balance, may be prudent for short-term cash flow purposes.
