12 Principles to Spark Innovation
1. Any concept imperfectly created will be limited by the magnitude of its imperfection.
2. A vision born in the heart and beheld with clarity in the mind must, in obedience to the law of creation, be created in the world of form.
3. If you can create without doubt, you are no doubt a creator.
4. If you see the glass is half-empty, you are seeing the circumstance not the dream. To transcend the circumstance you must see what’s not there.
5. True commitment begins when we can reach the point of not knowing how we can possibly go on and decide to do it anyway.
6. To set a goal is to limit infinity.
7. When you are tested ask why. What purpose does it serve? What am I learning here? Sometimes an apparent setback or disappointment serves the greater purpose of galvanizing desire or birthing a greater success.
8. Act as though you already are who you want to be, are already doing what you want to do, and already have what you want to have.
9. Money isn’t everything. It’s a resource, one of many. All resources to support you come from but one source - your infinity.
10. Decide what you need and ask for it. Imagine your every request being fulfilled.
11. Give your best to every client, whether small or large. You never know to whom you are offering your gifts. If you did, you’d be humbled.
12. Perfection is a state of being where everything already exists. Be in it when you give birth to new ideas or take action to innovate.

Books for Business Owners
- I know that everyone's profile has their favorite book on business, but I thought I would start a topic finding out why people like the books that they have put on their profiles. That way, everyone can see a good list and maybe read some to help grow their business.
For instance, I listed my favorite business book as [u:3ov9vf71]Spark: Be More Innovative through Co-Creation[/u:3ov9vf71], by John Winsor. I believe that it is a great book because it profiles some of the nation's most highly known entrepreneurs and their ideas on various business topics. Each chapter starts out with a page from the author about his interview with the business person and then the chapter is written by the business person themselves about their background and their thoughts on a specific business topic. At the end of each chapter, Winsor gives his thoughts on the chapter and gives you some advice as to how to really utilize the advice that was given throughout the chapter.
Re: Great start, but no finish
- Hi Guys,
I always, always recommend a starter upper read THe E-Myth by Michael Gerber. Many of those that decide to start something dont realize how much work, and how multifaceted running and building a real company is. This books shows people the ins and outs in a simple and effective way.
As far as commitment goes, they have to be willing to become lifelong learners. If they arent willing to do that, I have very little hope in their businesses getting past the 1 year mark.
There's alot of self reflection that has to go into starting a business, and recreating your life essentially. I also recommend books and resources like The Success Principles by Jack Canfield.

Online Brainstorming
- If any of you have read Jack Canfield's Success Principles or Robert Allen & Mark Victor Hansen, Enlightened Millionaires, you will understand how these great concepts come about.
Go back to the original text on Masterminding which is Napolean Hill in Think & Grow Rich. While their are many Mastermind groups out there right now, they arent really true to the original philosophy. In its purest form a mastermind group, or inner circle is a group dedicated to one goal, one cause and they all utilize their personal connections and resources to accomplish it.
I think if you really wanted to creat a 'next best thing' you need to find people to join your inner circle. STaff, friends, suppliers, mentors anyone that can dedicate some time to working on it, launching it and reaping the benefits.
I think doing one online would be great..who else would be interested?
Napoleon on Project Management
- Why do I include this in a list of books aimed at female entrepreneurs? Well...in the expectation that there are as many female history buffs as male ones, and in the belief that anyone interested in history will find this book fascinating, while those interested in project management will learn a thing or two.
I think this was the first "gimmick" book - an author using a historical figure (usually a male, military figure, it must be admitted) to talk about modern day business management. I refuse to read any of the kind that advocates - even obliquely - the techniques of the Sopranos or the Mossad - but these military ones are pretty fun.
Anyway:
Only in the understanding of history, Napoleon might say, do we gain an understanding of strategy in the present. In the same spirit, Napoleon on Project Management offers the recipe for successfully managing your commitments using the strategies, tactics and priorities that propelled Napoleon himself to victory. [The book doesn't gloss over how Napolean eventually fell in defeat, of course, and there's lessons to be learned there as well.

Cash Comes from Creativity
- These days, income from your 9 to 5 job can only get you so far. Gas is gold and it seems all are bemoaning the effects of economic recession. The question foremost on everyone’s mind is this: how on earth can we survive this financial crisis?
Before, money-making is defined as having enough capital to start a business --- that or you make sure you are employed by the richest and most benevolent boss on earth! Those days are over though--- you don’t always have to rely on savings/ capital or the generosity of other people to have sustainable income. All you need is yourself---and your ideas!
That’s right. The new model for business is innovation: the ability to successfully exploit great ideas. Innovation brings income; creativity brings cash.
We live in a world where almost every good or service is readily available. If you search a product on the internet for example, say laundry detergent, you are likely to come up with several hundreds of brands and variations of the same product. And with consumers nowadays being so fickle from the many choices available to them, your market can change their minds about their preferences in a matter of seconds. If you want to survive in the global marketplace you need to be able to do two things: stand out and think on your feet.
Ask yourself: what can you offer the world that others do not? What would make things easier, more convenient or more sensational for today’s busy people? What are your simple solutions to everyday problems that deserve to be replicated? What is an outrageous idea you have that may actually work?
Your multi-million money-making opportunity may be lying in quirky little things you take for granted. That effective hangover-remedy you concocted? May just be an affordable alternative to what’s on the shelves these days. That extra-special way you pack your kids’ lunches? May be taught via a webinar alongside with your other Martha Stewart-ish ways. Just look closely at what makes you unique and effective---and think sales. That’s money from your ideas.
