Strategies for Dropping Your Family's Cost of Health care Coverage

You may be paying too much each month on your accident and health coverage policy. You might be able to use certain tricks and get a lower coverage prices. Combining your family's insurance coverage and a getting one policy may be the most cost effective approach. However, in many situations, families will do better with two or more separate policies.

The situations in which buying separate individual health coverage policies might be more cost effective include when you need to insure:

A parent and a single child

A family needing pregnancy coverage

An adult or adults over 49 needing coverage for a kid

Families where the wife or husband is older by ten years or more

Usually when an insurance policy or any other thing seems almost the same as another thing yet has a much lower price, it is a strong indication that the value or quality is different. This is usually true with accident and health coverage, however in many cases it is not. Sometimes the difference in price says more about the way the insurance company calculates their rates than it does about the quality of the coverage.

Getting different health coverage policies does have a potential downside. In some plans there are limitations on deductibles and other cost shares when family members are insured on the same plan. These limits need to be weighed against any premium savings you get by placing your family members on separate plans.

The reason that buying separate or individual medical care policies is a cost-effective strategy for certain families is that health insurance carrier compute their prices using different methods. This means that certain families will get a better premium with certain calculation methods.

Some insurers will calculate the premium for each family member and just add those prices together to determine the premiums for a family. Other times a carrier will calculate the cost based on the age of the younger spouse. Other insurers will determine the rate based on the age of the older spouse.

If carriers determine premiums for their health policies based on the age of the older adult and the number of people to be insured, buying healthcare insurance for one child and a adult can mean that you pay the same rate for the child as one would pay for an adult. The only way to pay the lower child rate for the child is to get him or her a separate health and accident coverage policy. A family like this may pay less buying separate insurance policies or by buying a policy where the prices are determined for each member of the family separately.

Families that want pregnancy coverage will often save money by covering the future mother-to-be by herself. Many of the accident and health insurance policies that include pregnancy benefits will include other benefits that other family members will not need.

Parents in their fifties and sixties who have kids often pay more when they cover their entire family on the same policy.

Some insurance carriers will determine a rate based on the older spouse's age. Some carriers calculate their prices based on the age of the younger spouse. Shop around if there's ten years or more between the age or you and your spouse.

Large families will usually save money by buying one policy and with a carrier that offers a family rate. Companies that calculate their prices by adding together the prices for each family member together can cost them too much.

It is important that you shop around when searching for accident and health coverage. Different company use different methods of calculating prices. You may be pleasantly surprised at the price you find when you look at other medical insurance carrier's premiums.

Points which are considered in a bank? Points which are considered in a bank? - I have tried to value banks several times and found it very hard to proceed with it. I know a bit. But it seems to be too less to proceed. Can we take this up?? Here is what I know 1. Price to book is a more imp. 2. Net interest income and non-interest income need to thought of. 3. Loan loss provisioning. 4. Coverage ratio. 5. Cost of funds. 6. ROA, ROE 7. NPA 8. Deposits and advances. 9. Capital adequacy ratio 10. Tier 1, Tier 2 capital consideration. 11. Leverage, loan book value 12. LIBOR, SLR, CRR There are many more. And even in the ones above, it’s pretty hard to value a bank.
Too Successful for Marriage? Too Successful for Marriage? - Hey Everyone! This is one of my favourite topics so forgive me if I rant... There is a huge piece missing in all of these discussions and that is, what are the men doing/going to do differently? The focus is always on the women and how we have created this but in reality in the men who have become obsessively insecure about 'their' roles in the relationship, etc. Perhaps if there were more education or relationship coaching for men, it would help. Right now, the majority of information is focussed on the women. Men clearly dont know what is 'expected' of them anymore. These arent our fathers times. There was an article in Men's Health last year which was actually promoting the fact that men can relax a bit and be 'taken care' of by their successful wives and girlfriends. Give me a break - if I was single and I wanted to take care of something, or some-one it would be my business or my dog. Men these days seem to have lost all THEIR Ambition and drive. If they, the men, could catch up with the women in self esteem, empowerment etc., we'd all be much better off. I think women, while wanting a relationship, are doing the right thing in remaining single until they find a confident and self secure partner. I dont think women are looking to be the BREADWINNER all the time, but we shouldnt get punished by it. J
