These days, some states actually require driver's training programs for new drivers to achieve their new license. Even in ones that do not, insurance companies still appreciate the effort that individuals go through to get such training. To that effect, most insurance companies provide a discount for driver training that is taken. Some drivers training programs are better than others.
Drivers; Education
Drivers education programs have offered good training for new drivers for many decades. Insurance companies like these programs because they traditionally offer in person driving instruction for all of the participants. This is usually a combination of in class instruction and in car guidance and practice on the roads. Some insurance companies will give a fifteen percent or even greater discount for this form of driver training.
Online Drivers Education
A relatively new concept in drivers training is online drivers; education. The rise of the Internet has permitted this substitute to in person drivers training to become a reality. In this form of online drivers education, users log on to the classes and quizzes that are offered in units over their computer and Internet connection. Most of these companies will allow the individuals to take the units as many times as necessary to pass, removing much of the stress and pressure of in person drivers education. These online courses are also tailored for the individual state in which the new driver resides.
Insurance Company Sanctioned Driver Training Programs
There are larger auto insurance companies that offer their own approved drivers training programs. These may be done in partnership with a drivers training school in an area, or through their own national program. In any case, an insurance company will be most pleased if the new driver goes through their program for obvious reasons. It is one that they have either heavily reviewed and found to offer thorough training and effective results, or alternatively one that they have painstakingly put together themselves. Whichever the case is, insurance companies that have their own approved and sanctioned drivers training programs will reward new drivers with their most generous discounts for going through such programs, since they feel that these are the best drivers training programs on the market.
The best way to determine which drivers training insurance program will provide the greatest discounts for a new driver lies in calling the insurance company in question. If parents are already insured with the company, it will be easy to find out what program the company will encourage or even allow. One only needs to contact his or her local agent to learn all about the best insurance discounts offered by the company for drivers training.
