Health Plans vs. Health Insurance In America

Attention regarding the lack of health insurance amongst everyday American citizens has climaxed as law-makers, legislators; the President and millions of frustrated and economically challenged citizens raise their voices and cry-out for a change. There a currently millions of Americans who do not have health insurance because of affordability issues, because they are unemployed, their current occupation does not offer health insurance coverage, or simply because they do not understand the various forms of health insurance or how to get the best deal for themselves and their families. One of the most confusing aspects of understanding healthcare and obtaining the right kind of coverage for your specific need is comprehending the difference between the forms of insurance and coverage available. Within the world of health insurance, there are two major kinds of coverage. The first is simply health care insurance which includes the traditional forms of coverage, including Health Maintenance Organizations, or HMO's, and Preferred Provider Organizations, or PPO's. These insurance plans vary in actual coverage, but involve a specific policy with member deductibles, premiums, and co-pays. These portions of payment are responsible to the member and once these specific costs have been met, the health insurance company takes over and covers the remainder of the medical service costs.

In addition to these more conventional healthcare medical insurance plans, there are discount Health Plans also available to U.S. citizens. Discount Health Plans are becoming increasingly popular, but members must remember to see the fine print. Health Plans offer discounted services for very specific health services within a particular network. Memberships are provided through easy and affordable monthly payments. These plans simply offer a discount. For example: A health plan that offers a 50% discount on normal physician visits of $100 will allow the member to pay $50 for the same visit. There are similar examples related to prescriptions, preventative costs and even over-the-counter medications. These Health Plans are made for individuals who are on a fixed income or would like to supplement their current health insurance policy.

Deciding which healthcare coverage plan is best is a personal decision, and should be based on individual need, financial availability, and the specific benefits required. While health insurance provides a more comprehensive coverage, it can be more costly to the individual. While Health Plans offer reduced cost for specific benefits and discounts, there is no real coverage provided and no payments are made for the member for any kind of medical services rendered. Any kind of healthcare is better than none and for those who are on a limited income; health plans can offer reduction in overall medical costs for a limited amount of money. For those who can afford comprehensive health insurance, there are a plethora of benefits available. Be diligent in your research and the right kind of coverage can be found relatively easily.

list building list building - OK.... I think I get it. Reason I'm curious is that I'm working on a Health product site with a friend, it will fit nicely with the client base on arcamax. We're planning to set up an affiliate program to drive sales and looking for low cost alternatives to generate traffic. We will be creating several reports, and a book is already available. We just need to get the puzzle pieces in place for the site - then get the traffic.

Re: Let Your Employees Nap At Work Re: Let Your Employees Nap At Work - Hi Evan, Thanks for the post, it makes interesting reading and I must admit a power nap in the afternoon seems very appealing. I know in some countries particularly Spain they have a siesta and close up the shops for a couple of hours then re-open again in the late afternoon, not sure I could do that,LOL There has been some interest in the UK for 'quiet rooms' in some industries but that relates more to Health and Safety and dealing with stress at work by chilling out for a short period but not much has really come of it and certainly not allocated nap times but I like the idea. I think as one comment on the post pointed out, this is a great side benefit of working from home, you can allocate your own nap time. regards, Mal.
Re: Need some information on freelance jobs! Re: Need some information on freelance jobs! - Hi Evan, Thanks for the video, you have made some excellent points there, I especially agree with your suggestion that we should add value wherever possible. Many of the training classes that I run (my day job) are on subjects relating to Health and Safety and First Aid etc and many of these courses are a legal requirement. So to add value, I make a point of writing or calling my clients when their present certification is about to run out. I also send a report from each course advising of who attended or not and when the earliest course is for those who didn’t make it to come back. My clients really appreciate this because quite often in their own busy lives they have forgotten or just don’t know. These are just a couple of ways that I try to add value and stand out from other trainers, as many of them don’t do this. This is easy recurring business for me so I can certainly relate to your video. thanks again, Mal.
