A dear friend of mine gave me Florian Langenscheidt's German book "1000 Moments of Happiness" as a birthday present. He lists his "moments worth living for" and many of these 1000 I share with him. With all the goodwill in the world, I only detected 18 moments of happiness which are related to working. In other words, only 1,8 percent of the authors moments of happiness are related to what he does for a living, whilst he will spend more than one third of his time working.

My 1000 moments of happiness are equally emotional, get under my skin, bring tears of joy into my eyes, make me smile and laugh and keep me going. Yet at least half of them are related to my work of writing and creating awareness. How does that happen? I deeply enjoy what I do for a living, respect and appreciate the people I work with.

What are your 1000 moments that make your life worth living? Take good care that your work forms a substantial part of them or change what you do for a living!
