Resonsible leadership in an interconnected universe

In times of crisis, leadership is for a huge part about responsibility. But what precisely is your responsibility, you may ask? Responsibility literary means your ‘ability to respond’ to what is at hand and what needs to be taken care of. A crisis such as the present occurs because we have not sufficiently responded to situations that were not appropriate any longer. We sat and watched hoping someone else would do something about it or believed that is was of minor importance. But there is no such thing as not being involved or affected.

Our world consists of constantly interconnected energy and consciousness. This includes people, things and events, just everything. If your five senses and your pre-programmed brain tell you otherwise, I have bad news for you: they deceive you. From quantum physics to cybernetics, bioenergetics, holistic medicine and spiritual teachings they all agree today that you do not exist separately from someone else, other events or material objects. You create your own world by what you are thinking, saying, feeling and doing. And what you do to others you do to yourself, always. The boomerang will always hit you. So far you just have not realized it because you don’t see an immediate ‘cause- and effect’ relationship.

Being a responsible leader in these times means that you have to change what has become unsuitable for today’s world. But change it in a way that is offering a future perspective for all, not just a few chosen ones. Always be aware that there are no secrets in an interconnected universe consisting of energy and consciousness, because everything and everybody are constantly interconnected. So, perceive the misery of someone else as your own and you have understood it. Now it is upon you as well to act...

Pitching without getting Poached - Hi Kevin, This is a great question and one I get ALOT! The short answer is a non disclosure agreement with a strict confidentiality clause and non-compete. Sadly, it doesnt always work. I recently hired a copywriter to edit some of my women's leadership work - and now I find out she is speaking on Women's leadership to my own Women's group. Eek! In any case, I'm the expert so I doubt it will go far. You do need to be careful and follow your gut on who to trust and how much information to share. Most people are honourable but you do need to cover your butt. J

Bad books - One of my pet peeves: I really, [i:3gjt67s5]really [/i:3gjt67s5]hate those "franchise" books like The __________ For Dummies, or The Idiot's Guide to ______________. The titles offend me, and the way they're written (yes, I have looked at a couple), in a "yes we know you're not a dummy but we'll talk to you like you are, anyway" manner, get on my nerves. So any business books coming out of those franchises.... I never look at. I'm also not too sure about those "gimmick" books - leadership skills of Attila the Hun, or of The Sopranos (how sad that someone actually thought it might be amusing to write a book about the leadership skills of characters in a TV show based on the Mafia...)
