The general, whose reputation was such that his name became synonymous with leadership in China, replied: "My eldest brother sees battles and challenges; he solves them before they take shape, so his name does not get out of the inner circle. As for me, I fought a few battles against powerful enemies to secure our borders and restructured part of the army, so my name from time to time gets out and is mentioned among the lords and the public.
