Go ahead. Ask for help.
In July 2008, the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology shared the outcome of a series of studies on individuals asking for help. The results were that people underestimate by as much as 50% the likelihood that others would agree to a direct request for help.
American researcher on relationships & personal growth, Barbara De Angelis, writes that part of living with integrity means, "...Asking for what you want and need from others..."
Is it possible that a project has yet to come to completion due to the need for assistance?
Team Exercise:
- "Why do we often choose to not ask for help from co-workers?"
- "How often do you find yourself needing help? Monthly? Daily? Weekly?"
- "Will you consider asking for help today?"
