Honoring your promises are highly profitable

Cornell University did a study whereby 7000 employees were surveyed at 76 locations. Behavioral Integrity was the theme. The results were that businesses where associate words aligned with their deeds reaped higher profits than those who were found to be less consistent with follow-through.

Norman Vincent Peale said that "Promises are like crying babies in a theater, they should be carried out at once."

Re: Service Or Product? Re: Service Or Product? - If you are in a hardware business you will have a product. The production of products has changed a lot in the last 20 years. Some profitable companies manufacture as they sell product. For example many personal computers are assembled after the order has been placed. Very often the computer company has been paid for the computer before the company pays for the components. I have seen this model in many highly profitable companies. It is often referred to as "just in time manufacturing."
Re: eBlogging 101: Getting Your Internet Business To Stand Out F Re: eBlogging 101: Getting Your Internet Business To Stand Out F - Hi Tyrone, Good to see you back on the forum. I had not heard of the "UPOD" acronym before (Under Promise, Over Deliver). That is a very good guideline. Don't use "promises" as personal challenges to do better - just in case unanticipated events prevent you from fulfilling the promises you make.
Re: Kevin's Case Study #7 - How do you promote your new book? Re: Kevin's Case Study #7 - How do you promote your new book? - Hey! Shri you Rock! The only thing I would add is something I have personally found to be very profitable, and that is centres of influence. Identify people who are selling/promoting into the same target market as you and get them to recommend you. I've also done a lot of list building and promotion leading up the release of the book. In fact, I had sold 100 copies before it was even finished. I highly recommend Shri's book too! Great resource. Jude
Follow your passion Follow your passion - Hi Kevin - I think there is some middle ground here. If you look at any of the successful entrepreneurs that we've profiled they all talk about having passion for what you are doing. If your business idea is not immediately profitable I would look at how you can a) either make it more profitable (find another angle) or b) start it part time so you can get something up and running and you can transition it into a full time business as the revenue comes in
Re: How can you distinguish real from fake opportunities? Re: How can you distinguish real from fake opportunities? - Hi Kevin, Unfortunately this sort of thing happens all too often. It's sometimes hard to distinguish a fake opportunity from a real one. However, if it sounds too good to be true, it most likely is. Any opportunity that promises money with no effort on your part or promises success overnight, run the other direction. You can also research the opportunity first to see what others are saying about. If it's a scam, a quick Google search will tell you pretty quickly. About recycled content... it's everywhere. It's no different than taking crap and packaging it up into a pretty little package with a bow on top. Unwrap it, and it's still crap. A lot of ebooks you find nowadays are like that. Mostly scammers or lazy wannabe marketers sell that junk. Luckily word gets out quick before they can make a lot of money. $100 - $150 is very expensive for an ebook on online marketing. Not to mention you can find most of the information you need for free on forums. Sorry to hear that happened to your friend.
