Although it is known as a Vice, it can be a virtue especially in business. Being proud of the quality of service or product you deliver is not something to be ashamed of, quite the opposite. Top quality delivery is something to shout about and praising those who do it and allowing them to be proud of their achievements is something every aspiring business leader needs to be alert too.

This came to mind recently with regard to one of my clients who has been having difficulty with regard to the quality of the service provided by his workforce. This not only has been affecting the customer service perception of his clients to the company, it has also affected the bottom line with the need to redo jobs and taking too much management time to ensure quality is maintained.

The client’s management team needs to get a “Right first time” approach as something to deliver each and every time. The problem is that the pride in the workforce and the supervision has been allowed to lapse. A don’t worry, don’t care attitude pervades and the pride in a job well done has been lost. Something needs to be done and a spirit of “I’m proud to work here” needs to be instilled in everyone; no matter what their level. Usually this malaise attacks companies as they grow; losing the close personal touch of the direct management of days gone by.

I am helping the team to come up with a plan to restore that pride both personally, as a team and as a company. There are many shining examples of how excellence in service can work and that is what we aiming to achieve here.

Boosting Confidence Boosting Confidence - Confidence is something all of us women could stand to have infused in our blood 24/7! It’s one of those areas that many struggle with the most. Through my coaching practice, I’ve discovered an underlying thread that seems to undermine confidence in some women. It has to do with confusing true confidence with pride or arrogance. Confidence is being sure of who you are and what you are able to do in a way that does not compare yourself to others. It is not dependent on value because every one of us women is valuable. Pride or arrogance is when someone lifts him or herself above others as if they are more valuable than others. It also seems to be related to "approval addiction" where the self esteem must continually be fed by others or they don't feel good about themselves. Thus, some arrogant people put others down so they can see themselves as above. Confidence is simply being all of the great woman you already are. You want to create a great business and you want to do your job well. It is not prideful to be confident in what you are doing. I invite you to give yourself permission to really let your abilities come forward and see what happens to you and your business as a result. I’d also love to hear what methods you have for boosting your own confidence.
Re: I am refreshed and ready Re: I am refreshed and ready - Hi Tanny, Good to see you back. I notice you have already appeared on the "This Month's Leaders" board so you have obviously been busy contributing to the forum! The good thing about an affiliate marketing type of Internet business is that you can let it tick over while you are away doing your own thing.
Re: Review My: e-product sales letter Re: Review My: e-product sales letter - I think it's great! Looks like any minor errors have already been pointed out. One thing I suggest is removing the Adsense from that page. When you are trying to actually sell your own product like that on a sales page then Adsense typically isn't a good thing to have on there.
Re: Should a start-up outsource early? Re: Should a start-up outsource early? - If you have the money to do it why not? If you are good in what you are doing you can do it yourself, but if not you better outsource it. It is good to oursource when you have the resources to do it. It gives you leverage of time to do other thing.
Re: Question of the week: Does free work? Re: Question of the week: Does free work? - I think it depends on how relevent the free thing is and how good it is, also it is about how targeted you are with your marketing and the way you are doing your marketing. I would say that if you are say building an email list of subscribers to try and build a relationship with and then sell to at a later date then the free thing will work, if you are giving in exchange for nothing then i dont think it works as well. Nothing is really for nothing
