When Entrepreneurs are Outstanding
Do you love to stand out from the crowd? When you walk into a room do people point and nod and smile like you are a celebrity? Have you been asked to give interviews about your amazing skills and talents?
Then please remember this quote: the higher you go the harder you can fall!!
Think about it for a minute. Once you are known as super smart, super creative, super good you are a great target for those who are jealous of other's successes. So, be careful to keep your ego from running away, from seeing yourself as better than others. Keep being humble.
There are always the pluses and minuses of creativity that are rewarded with awards and acknowledgment. Often, we forget that we are part of a team, a group of people who have helped us get to the goal.
Think about the Academy Awards. Sure it can get boring listening to the lists of "thank you" for being part of the success. However, the day after the awards is as important as the evening gala. You see when you stand out from the crowd if you don't remember the crowd that helped you get there you will end up alone. Yes, alone! And the next venture will be harder and maybe even never get you to the new creative place to be seen as outstanding.
So, on your entrepreneurial journey to the top of the mountain keep thinking about who you need to thank as you walk the fun and complex path of making new things happen. You will be the better for it.
