I Don't Understand...
… our
government sending foreign aid dollars to countries from which we borrow
money to run our government and send foreign aid to others.
… spending $2 million to convert the food pyramid to a food plate.
… adults locking small children in their car for hours and then claiming they forgot the child was there.
… people using “you know” in response to a question. If I knew I wouldn’t have asked.
… our government that doesn’t count adults as unemployed if those adults stop looking for a job.
… our President who celebrates economic recovery on the same day that the unemployment percentage goes up.
… citizens who use “caring and compassion” as an excuse not to enforce immigration laws.
… illegal immigrants who openly protest the fact that they could be deported.
… why they aren’t arrested and deported since they have confessed to a crime in public.
… Seniors who protest proposed changes in Social Security or Medicare programs that do not effect them.
… unemployed people who say they want a job but refuse to work at some jobs because “it’s a step back”.
… why
we have a State Department of Education when the State Supreme Court
determined that only local school boards have control of public
education.
… why we have a Federal Department of Education for the aforementioned reason.
… why we blame cars for accidents when cars are an object incapable of any action without a human being.
… why gas prices go up three times faster than they come down but the cause of the change up or down is the same.
… the
United States regularly telling other countries how to govern themselves
but taking great offense at any country giving us advice how to conduct
our business.
… why we have forgotten the lessons we learned in Vietnam.
… how we enter wars without congressional approval.
… how we can enact laws without the actual signature of our President.
… how we lost our common sense and our sense of personal responsibility.
… we can support the death penalty and oppose abortion simultaneously.
… our sense of entitlement.
... why we have so many politicians and so few public servants.
... why most law breakers are sorry once they are caught.
... why some use the past as an excuse for their shortcomings in the present and their lack of effort in the future.
… why, at an age when I’m supposed to be older and wiser, there are so many more things that I don’t understand.
