Finish Strong in 2009 and Set Up for Success in 2010

A new business season is upon us and with it comes some old challenges and some new ones. Here are three action steps to achieve a strong finish in 2009 and set your organization up for a great year in 2010.

1. Get a Recovery and Growth Mindset

Now is the time for you and your team to shift thinking from defense to offense. As the recession begins to fade there are tremendous opportunities to grow your business. The challenge is to recognize the opportunities and then take action to exploit the potential.

2. Upgrade Your Mental Software

When was the last time you invested in growing the knowledge, skills and capabilities of yourself and the team around you? Is your team trying to achieve success in 2010 with a 2004 mindset? If your organization isn't changing as rapidly as the environment around it then you might want to upgrade capabilities with training, coaching or consulting aimed at the areas of greatest need.

3. Lead

The root cause of both success and failure is leadership. If your team isn't up to the challenge it may be them or it may be the leader. Develop a clear idea in your mind on what you want to achieve and then ask the team how they can make it happen. Challenge is a top motivator so get your team reenergized by focusing on a big goal that they can sink their teeth into.

Life of claims! Life of claims! - Hello, Although we all know that the life of any patent at the uspto is 20 years, I have another concern about as to weather a patent can be renewed by just appending a few unique claims just before it expires. For example, say I was granted a patent in 1990 and in 2009 I decide to further protect some of those claims so no one can use them for another 20 years. Therefore am I allowed to create a new product very similar to the original one patented in the 1990 and append a couple of new and original claims to it and re-patent it in 2009 thus allowing a better version of the original product to be patented for another 20 years. If the 2009 patent gets granted, would the original claims included in the 1990 patent be valid and protected for another 20 years? Thankyou all for your feedback! With regards Rob

Re: How do u optimize a Blogger blog? Re: How do u optimize a Blogger blog? - Hi GT, Of course there is a way and you know it, you wrote it down in your question. 1- Optimize your main blog code : Meta keywords, title, description. 2- Optimize your post - look at it as a web page. You need keywords (tags), use them in your title, first and last paragraph, and variations on the entire blog. Use the Strong tag, add title to links and alt to images. This is it. The key here is to do a good keyword search before writing.
