Maturity in the attitude of the business leader

The mature business leader knows his strengths and wants to develop them, and he also knows his weaknesses which he endeavors to control. Imagine yourself in the following situation. A close observer, a person you know well and respect, is telling you the following. ‘’From the way you just handled your people, I am reminded of the task-orientation of a lion.’’ As a mature business leader, you would not have the automatic reflex of feeling hurt, a feeling to which a lesser leader could not help succumbing, because you would realize that the remark of this person whom you respect is intended either as a compliment, or as constructive rather than negative criticism, depending on the kind of context in which the statement was made. Consequently, you would reflect your strengths as a mature business leader if you replied in one of the two following ways, depending on which of the above two meanings your observer intended to convey. If he meant to compliment you, you might say ‘’Thanks, I have a strong team of young lions and we fully understand each other’’. If he intended to convey constructive criticism, you might say ‘’Yes, I tend to be a little overbearing when I become impatient and forget the basics of motivation; thanks for reminding me.’’ Such reactions are among the signs denoting an honest and mature business leader with a genuine desire to become an even better leader. If this represents your tendency of reacting, it shows that you have great strengths as a business leader and a mature attitude of leadership.

Fritz Glaus is a researcher, writer, and leadership, team and sales training expert. From the very beginning of his training career, which spans over more than 45 years, Fritz developed his own training material in which he incorporated a types-of-people methodology of self-knowledge and understanding of others. Fritz's typology is based on a system of six classic types which enables participants, during training, to gradually learn about themselves and about others as well as exchange that personal information with each other.

In 2006 Fritz published the book ‘'CRazYZoo! ‘KNOW THYSELF' made easy'' which is a simple and personally meaningful method of learning about the six classic types and is presented in the form of an action-filled fable which also allows the reader to decide for himself to which of the six classic types he belongs.

To-day, all ThreeBrainSynergy manuals and e-learning material are based on the types-of-people approach.

Re: THE SECRET TO SUCCESS IS ALL IN YOUR HEAD...RIGHT NOW!!! Re: THE SECRET TO SUCCESS IS ALL IN YOUR HEAD...RIGHT NOW!!! - Hi Barry, Thank you for a great post and to all the members for your excellent comments. I can only agree that attitude plays a big part. This business is about identifying the niche you want to work in, how you are going to get traffic then how you are going to get sign ups to your product or service. Sadly. a lot of people give up early because their attitude is all wrong as they expect success without laying the foundations before they start and without the right attitude they are doomed to failure. regards, Mal.
True Characteristics of an Entrepreneur True Characteristics of an Entrepreneur - It is said that in order to become a successful individual in whatever endeavor you wish to take, you must have the right attitude and characteristics. This is also true with an entrepreneur. Not everyone can become an entrepreneur. What are the characteristics of an entrepreneur? Are they really important? Well, of course the characteristics are important because if you don’t possess them, you will have lower chances in terms of business success. The characteristics are as follows – 1. Risk taker – this is a very important characteristic of an entrepreneur. If you're not willing to take any risk, then you will not succeed as a businessperson. In the everyday course of the business, you will encounter a lot of problems and challenges which you need to decide the soonest. Some risks are worth taking after careful evaluation especially if it's for the good of the business. If you're not a risk taker, then you're not an effective entrepreneur and you're bound to fail in your business undertaking. 2. Smart – being smart is another characteristic of an entrepreneur. You have to be clever, keen, and witty in all your business dealings. You have to show mental alertness and intelligence so that you can win the respect and trust of customers and other clients. 3. A leader – leadership is a characteristic that is hard to find among individuals. Not many individuals have the nerve to take the lead. To become a good entrepreneur, you must be a leader. Some say that this is a born characteristic but if you don’t possess it, you can also learn to become a leader. You're quite lucky if you're a born leader because you only have to develop your other qualities and use them when you choose to become an entrepreneur. As a leader, you should be able to guide, influence, and direct people. This way, you can handle all your business activities with ease and fewer worries. 4. Inner passion for business – another important characteristic is having the right passion for business. You have to maintain your enthusiasm and interest in the business. As long as you have the right drive and passion, you can run the business for a long time. 5. Honest and trustworthy – some say that eighty percent of an entrepreneur's time is dedicated to pooling and attracting customers. This may be true because without the customers, the business will not exist. You have to be honest and trustworthy so that you can develop good will. There are other characteristics that an entrepreneur should possess. These characteristics help him or her do all the business responsibilities and obligations that need to be done. These are also the keys to business success. If you want to finance a certain business venture and run the business yourself, you should develop these characteristics. Without them, your business will soon fail and you will suffer the losses. Be thankful if you already have the characteristics of an entrepreneur. All you need to do now is to study the market carefully, think of a good business venture, and provide for the capital and you're all set.
Re: A bad attitude is like a flat tire. If you don't change it, Re: A bad attitude is like a flat tire. If you don't change it, - Bad attitude will make you lose your clients and customers, even if you change your attitude it takes a while for them to come back
Re: What can You Learn from a Jobless and Homeless Woman? Re: What can You Learn from a Jobless and Homeless Woman? - Alan, I definitely agree that a person needs all of those things. I think for me, it was the positive attitude that was the most important. If I woke up with a "defeated" attitude, I knew I had to do something to snap me out of it quickly. Either read a few chapters from a Zig Ziglar book or the Bible. I'm sure everyone has their own little routine.
Re: Winners vs. Losers Re: Winners vs. Losers - Thanks Evan May I add Winners have a passion for success Winners have positive mental attitude Winners are committed Winners see problems as opportunities Winners love the challenge (of difficulties) Losers Easy to recognize - I try to avoid them; attitude, commitment, body language, participation, procrastination, fear, ....
