A story of inspiration and action for marketers

Written by: Donal Hennessy

Article Overview: I love the John Jackson wakeup call in the morning in our business. Some of us need coffee, tea whatever it takes to perk you up first thing in the morning. For me it is the cup of leadership .This morning was no different except we all witnessed John tell a very heart rendering story about his dad who passed away 11 years ago and he became very emotional at one point as he fondly remembered his dad. There were many lessons to be learned from this story and I will share a few of the highlight moments of that call with you.

A story of inspiration and action for marketers

I love the John Jackson wakeup call in the morning in our business.

To summarise John Jackson's dad, he grew up on a small farm picking cotton with this other four brothers .He recalls stories of sweltering heat, sleeping on soiled sheets and sharing bread among his brothers. They were very poor. He was not regarded as being very academic and so held back in school. He played football, baseball and basketball and did graduate from school. He was given an opportunity to join an oil company and he had a phenomenal career in this industry as a safety chemical engineer. When he became successful there was resentment among his other brothers as he was regarded by society as being stupid. But he deserved the gold medal and 100% for action and this is how he will be remembered.

John Jackson's father was one of the 3% leaders and has had profound influence on John's personal success. The moral of this story is simple. You don't have to be smart to be successful. It's about taking action. To succeed you need to take bold, decisive action to get the best results. There is a quote "dogs don't bark at parked cars".

In our great community there is tremendous opportunity in a time where the world is saying we can't succeed. With all the expert training offered from every source, our success is going to depend on the action we take to make that success real. All the top leaders are routeing for us and want all our members to be successful but the simple fact is the answer to our success lies within ourselves, our belief, our persistence, will and the action on a daily basis in our business.

John's message this morning was simple. Go out to the world and get barked and do something for somebody in the knowledge of knowing they can never repay you .I am going to take a leaf out of Johns story and take action right now. This is Donal Hennessy signing off. Stay tuned for my next article.

Re: New Profile - The Twitter Story Re: New Profile - The Twitter Story - Thanks for sharing this story of inspiration with us, Evan. I didn't have a clue how Twitter started or even who the creators were. It's definitely a great motivator to get creative with our own businesses.
How to Stay Motivated How to Stay Motivated - There are times when you are up and times when you are down. As a life coach, so often my clients try to push through the times that they are down. They try to motivate themselves. Unfortunately this extends the period of time that they feel unmotivated. When you resist where you are, you amplify it and make it worse. They key is to relax into it and ride the waves of energy and they rise and fall. There will be times when you are hot and times when you are not. Times of great creativity and energy and times of no inspiration and you feel totally blah. If you will honor the times of blah and just rest, inspiration will come back sooner. If you panic and try to GET MOTIVATED, then you will just get more frustrated. What’s the moral of the story? Chill out, relax and rest when the body is going in that direction. Don’t worry. The waves of energy will return and you will soon be riding high again.
Re: Become a Leader? It scared the hell out of me! Re: Become a Leader? It scared the hell out of me! - That is a great story, thanks so much for sharing. Your's is not a common one, but there are many of us here who can relate to it I'm sure as we have all experienced very similar things over our collective years of internet business ventures, growth, expansion, activities and interacting with our website visitors, and other like minded internet marketers, to one degree or another. Over the last 15 years or so I personally have seen a tremendous growth in my online business activities becoming friends and associated with entrepreneurs I would have never dreamed I would become involved with, so I can personally relate to your story. I'm so busy now that I haven't had time to drop in here as often as I would like, having half a dozen extremely large and high profile business projects in the works all at the same time! Fortunately I'm joint venturing with a dozen or so other experienced and some very high profile marketers who help ease the load. We've all been around long enough to understand quality business models do take time to put together, and we understand doing it right the first time is key. I commend you for your perseverance and self motivation to achieve the level of success you are enjoying now, and it looks evident you will continue to achieve even more. Best wishes and thanks again for sharing.
