Keep your eye on the ball

It's very difficult to stay focused when there is so much to do. You have a list, a commitment to doing what is necessary to achieve the organizational goals but there is so much to distract you. You start the morning with good intentions and check the email. You've got your list to follow and then you find that there are things that are very important - it's only 8.00am in the morning and you have already let your daily list slide.

This sort of interruption can occur dozens of times in a day and you can end up feeling as though you're not achieving anything much - and you'd be right.

When you switch from doing what you should, the whole day, month, year can end up feeling like a blur; rather than something where you can sit back and remind yourself about all of the successes you've had.

It's the time you spend reflecting, fine tuning, planning, holding yourself accountable that really makes a difference to your personal and business productivity.

As a leader; imagine the difference if you worked like this. When you've mastered it, you can then teach your employees how to do it.

Leaders are caught up in the frenetic pace of the workplace and this does not allow them to really know how much more effective they could be. The desk is piled high and if that's not, then the mind is full of what should be done.

Not many people in organizations spend a lot of time planning before they get into action. Why? Because they think it's a waste of time. Getting into action before planning is the time waster and it would be scary if you stopped long enough to measure it qualitatively and quantitatively.

Re: What would you like to see be invented? Re: What would you like to see be invented? - Hi, How about a golf ball that beeps if it is not found within 5 mins. I know this is not likely to happen but it would save so much time for us golfers who prefer to take the scenic route instead of down the middle, LOL. Mal.
Re: Suspicious/Problematic Users Re: Suspicious/Problematic Users - Hi Trent, Well done on your diligence but I was not fooled at all. The first post I saw seemed harmless enough although off topic so I replied. It was because I was suspicious that I checked out her other two posts and based on those, I tried to report them but David was on the ball and had done that already. I advised her to get out of our forum as she is in the wrong place as you will see. As we don't have the power to remove posts I left that to GT, cheers, Mal.
