Integrity first. The U.S. Air Force core value # 1 ... Embraced by our leadership, taught in our training programs, and commitment, and men and women serving our country, a symbol of the character. I only several years after serving in the Air Force about the true meaning of integrity is a valuable lesson learned. It was a battle on flying an F-16. It was during a training flight instructor pilot a brand new as I flew, and I learned to fly solo.

It was a rare opportunity for an instructor pilot to fly solo is found, but it was my lucky day and I was going to make the most of it. I Military Operations Area (MOA) had its maneuvers and perform my last touch and go landings before the pattern is. Feeling really fired, I pushed the throttles complete power, airspeed is obtained, and to see how G I "pattern" could draw decided. Rugged and reliable twin-engine jet trainer, the Cessna T-37B Structural G limits are 6.67 grams, and I can come see how close I hit the border was about. You see, I was doing what we call in the Air Force, 'dogging hot'. In other words, I was asking for trouble.

I accelerated to 225 knots, 90 degrees banking in it, and pulled. '5 .7 G s. .. One more time ... 6.4g 's ... .. 6.8 grams again! I looked down and did a double take. "Wow," though I for myself, "I just g'd super jet!" My first instinct to get on and off G-(sort of like an odometer back to zero five zero meters meters) was. After all, I saw another, more experienced pilots before and besides, T-37's was hard as nails. What the Jets are going to live was 0.127?

I have a difficult choice, zero G m and acting like nothing was faced with was out. Or immediately land the damaged jet, to accept my fault and accept the consequences. I cringed as I thought my fellow wingmen will think about me. And then I thought to myself ... What if my twin brother to fly the jet wing and fell yesterday? My choice was immediately apparent.

Not happy with my commander, was to say the least. My actions were irresponsible and showed a lack of discipline. Not only that, I was based for 2 weeks I was flying to severely reprimanded and maintenance squadron for a briefing on the process to present to inspect the jet had structural damage. The inspection costs $ 25K of our taxpayer's hard earned money and plane (an important resource for our squadron was training) also will be based for 2 weeks. Fortunately, the inspection revealed no damage to aircraft. However, I had my fellow wingmen valuable training costs.

Have you ever been tested in a situation where your integrity is in? Where you ever have a choice (or not accept accept) will affect your reputation has been a mistake, the safety of others, and even your career?

There are many lessons that can be drawn from my experiences. Their integrity (or lack thereof) for me all - affects, failure to turn himself in and admit their mistake a major accident, or could cause a possible loss of life. For you, this is a security accident, a lost life and lost a customer may have. Have to reach outside your cockpit for your actions.

Integrity is not an option - it may be instinctual, and we always do the right thing no matter, what costs should should try. And it does not begin and does not end at work. Integrity're watching you 24 hours a day, my ... wingmen should be respected.

Rank has its responsibilities, as well as their privileges - an officer in the Air Force, I (and still is) as a flight to the rules and standards compliance is the responsibility of my squadron.

It is being called a professional. As an employee with your company, you also observe their behavior rules and standards should be responsible.

Leading their wingmen on the factory floor, a hospital, or office, you will not tolerate violation of its integrity, and you can not make exceptions for others can. Costs are too high and can be measured in injuries, worker compensation claims, lost man hours, and its reputation. OSHA regulations / patient care processes, safety and operating instructions exist for a reason ... To protect the people, to prevent accidents, and help reduce operating costs for your company to save money by.

Will you make mistakes at work? Of course. You also will bear witness to the mistakes of others? Absolutely. However, you have to face them and hold them accountable have courage, or you are a 'nice guy' will be more concerned with who does not ruffle feathers? Sometimes the most difficult task a top leader gun to discipline their employees when they mess up. Will you stand up and take action? If you do not then who?

The way an environment where you can help your wingmen will live and work with integrity and admit your mistakes to make when you honor and integrity to have the courage to admit their mistakes. It is the foundation of creating a culture of courage. Integrity is contagious and it started from the top down. Also, when you shift attention away from himself and instead to focus on their mission and how their actions affect their colleagues and clients, you become a more trusted wingman.

Courage builds character. It is the foundation of integrity. It focuses to make the right choice for you and what is right despite the consequences. What's more, you better be able to sleep at night.

The Best Business Books Ever: The 100 Most Influential Business Books You'll Never Have Time to Read - this is a fascinating book about the history of Business theory, and I'd recommend it to anybody. 2. The Big Book of Small Business: You Don't Have to Run Your Business by the Seat of Your Pants, by Tom Gegax. Ditto. 3. PADI: The Business of Diving Book Okay, so this book won't be of use to anyone who doesn't want to start a scuba store, but I did, and this book was of course invaluable to me in reaching that goal.

Re: What Do you Prefer More - Time or Money - Living the moment. I am living the moment since 4 years ago, after the docs found cancer. They removed it, of course, and since then I just do what i want. Jumping from an airplane was one thing, that was great. Now I want to fly to the moon. I need money for that.
