Leadership, what is the difference between a manager and being a leader is that?. Definitions of leadership, there is no one definition that everyone agrees on. Manfred kets de Vries, INSEAD a professor, says the leadership of a "set of characteristics, behavior patterns, personality" qualities that makes some individuals more effective in achieving a set goal or objective is. Leadership is another way of describing, say, to get the best out of people, individuals, teams, organizations, he directed to be led, persuaded, inspired, motivated to be committed to their needs best, working together to achieve a common purpose. This, rather pure "approach to management than being told, instructions, orders, and treated as subordinates.

True leaders are recognized as the leader and his followers admit that they need to be guided by the leaders, but they do not feel that they are mere subordinates. A good example of a sports team captain - hockey, baseball, netball, cricket, football, football is - athletics these individuals have an individual role to play, yet time and to motivate others to do their best is finding ways to encourage your own personal skills, knowledge and experience to use (goal scoring, defense, win the race, hitting home runs) as a member of the same team to work together in time for the team to achieve goals whilst.

There are other ways to define leadership, performance transaction managers, and leaders to bring about change.

Transactional Manager selfishness awards and services primarily through exchange, attractive influence others. Rational relationship between manager and follower of this type of exchanges that enable each to reach their goals is seen as a series. Transactional managers all the ideas and their power supplies used as the primary source of rewards. Followers of the leader when it is complying with its own interest - as long as the relationship desirable to reward followers have continued and both the manager and the followers to achieve their ends as a way exchange see.

Transformational leaders motivate followers not as expected, but exceeded expectations - Transformational leaders motivate followers to target the immediate self-interest, where that becomes important beyond what is right and good to go work - the politicians need to change values, preferences and aspirations of followers. This is because the interests of the wider group of individuals within the group instead of selfishness.

It is interesting that research shows that the way women leaders describing how the practice lead, in line with the transformational style, mostly male leaders, while the self-describing words and phrases to describe the transactional style use. There are exceptions of course, and in some cases by the leader can be seen by different groups. Many people in the UK Margaret Thatcher would not describe as transformational in style, but equally they dictate, such as using bold words, opponents riding roughshod, yet others in her team, for example, the possibility described have him as charismatic, motivational, inspirational, kind, helpful.

We see from the look of leadership that there might be different ways to describe a leader, and how in some ways, at least what, how a manager's behavior is different. Person recognized as a leader the way it is clear there is a difference between something that makes politicians behave. On the surface there are considerable differences between Prime Minister Thatcher's leadership style and Indian industrialist Rajiv Bajaj. Yet both widely acknowledged as highly successful leaders are. The common factor seems, to convince others that all are able to follow them, so success in their particular field. They have everything that brings different people together, to work as a team goals and work hard to achieve a common objective. It is, perhaps, a special talent, or trait, or personality trait, or in circumstances that they find themselves, or perhaps a combination of these sets. Perhaps leaders are born with this ability, perhaps it's something that might be, or has learned.

Re: Business Women Peer Mentoring Spotlight Re: Business Women Peer Mentoring Spotlight - Hi Everyone, Gosh, I REALLY appreciate your concrete feedback. This was far more than I expected and I'm glad you said what you thought straight out. Each of you have shared something of value and I want to take some more time to think and really go over what each of you have said. However, I can see there are some things I need to change right away. What an interesting point about a NEW program perhaps making people think they are guinea pigs! This is NOT what I want to convey! It's funny how we can see some things so clearly in others while not always seeing it for ourselves! I must admit there are a few things I've been meaning to change (like my bio which is very outdated). Obviously, these things need to be higher on my priority list. You caught me like the plumber who puts his clients first and doesn't get around to fixing his own tap! As far as my target market, I do feel quite strongly about working with Women Leaders and doing Leadership Coaching with them. It's non-negotiable in my books. In my Executive Coaching training, the terms "Leaders" and "Executives" are interchangable. To me, an Executive is a Leader and so is the Business Woman or Entrepreneur who is CEO of her own business. I love working with decision makers! What I did learn is that I need to avoid opening up the Leadership term beyond what I described above. I'm also wondering if there is a misunderstanding with the general public as to what Leadership Coaching really is. Leadership Coaching is all about developing your leadership skills, both as a people manager and in more effectively running and growing the business. There is ALWAYS room for growth in some way. As well, sometimes, we just need a sounding board to clarify what our next BEST step is. In fact, if a woman thinks she has nothing to work on, then we aren't a good Client/Coach fit anyway. How can she grow if she doesn't see the value of expressing ALL of the great ability within her? How can her company grow if she doesn't see the value of strategic planning for the next best level? Thanks again to you all! I will go back to my website and really question whether I am conveying the right message. I got more than I bargained for in this Spotlight... you generously offered way more than I was asking. I think we could be on to something great for the Forum. Now it's time to let someone else have the spotlight. It would be great if everyone took a turn! In gratitude, Tami
