What is power?

Having the power to influence the results and the ability to achieve goals, its own direct control through the efforts of its scope, not necessarily out. What is legitimacy?

Validity or is going to be legitimate according to some law making. Being a code of conduct accepted law and authority by consensus or by majority decision. Validity is a tricky concept when it comes to legitimate power, it even more dicey as we will see in the example below is legitimate power.

Legitimate power is headed?

Legitimate power led force that is a leader by default, because of its position in an organization. Essentially a leader, a greater authority and responsibility than others due to he is revered by followers. Additional rights that is the legitimate power that bestows, separated from his followers.

Of course, in a large organization, there is a power structure, and each leader to answer to some higher authority, until the power at the top of the pyramid is very contained. Legitimate power is a relative strength of leadership which I spoke earlier about the very nature may be due to the concept. The one who takes it flowing smoothly. A quote by Abraham Lincoln says the nature of power in perspective:

"Nearly all men can stand bad luck, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power."

Being a leader, hard and you thin line, which led force beyond legitimate and illegitimate power to walk apart. Doing loads of that restraint, self control and what is right and fair is not a clear idea of what is required. Hopefully this article lead you a crystal clear idea of what the legal power is given.

Each of you have shared something of value and I want to take some more time to think and really go over what each of you have said. However, I can see there are some things I need to change right away. What an interesting point about a NEW program perhaps making people think they are guinea pigs! In my Executive Coaching training, the terms "Leaders" and "Executives" are interchangable. To me, an Executive is a Leader and so is the Business Woman or Entrepreneur who is CEO of her own business. I love working with decision makers! What I did learn is that I need to avoid opening up the Leadership term beyond what I described above. I'm also wondering if there is a misunderstanding with the general public as to what Leadership Coaching really is. Leadership Coaching is all about developing your leadership skills, both as a people manager and in more effectively running and growing the business. There is ALWAYS room for growth in some way. As well, sometimes, we just need a sounding board to clarify what our next BEST step is. In fact, if a woman thinks she has nothing to work on, then we aren't a good Client/Coach fit anyway. How can she grow if she doesn't see the value of expressing ALL of the great ability within her? How can her company grow if she doesn't see the value of strategic planning for the next best level?
