Isolation is fatal

Written by: John Patterson

Article Overview: We assert that prosperity is a natural tribal phenomenon, while isolation is simply fatal in more ways than one. Disastrous to your health, mood and appetite. Isolation is fatal

Remember all those studies you heard about; the ones where baby chimps were held or not held in the first few weeks of life...and all the ones that weren't held died? There are hundreds of comparable studies that show the direct correlation between health (both physical and mental) and your participation, interaction and connection with other people (and in some cases, your pet).

We love connecting, holding, snuggling, touching...and skin to skin? Intoxicating.

What does this have to do with performance, leadership, transaction, happiness and prosperity? Everything.

You are first and foremost your biology. This simply means that at some point in your ancestral evolution, survival of our species was elevated by social coupling; couples, families, packs and tribes working together increased survival exponentially.

It got built into your fiber and you can see it in most mammals; dolphins, wolves, bison, etc.

Your health, happiness and prosperity thrives in a group, not in isolation. It is as ancient as your cells; where a simple touch, sends scores of signals through neurotransmitters to purr.

We assert that prosperity is a natural tribal phenomenon, while isolation is simply fatal in more ways than one. Disastrous to your health, mood and appetite. Cataclysmic to your prosperity. In fact, if you intend to be really wealthy, you are going to require more help than you can imagine.

The new year approaches. Participate, connect, play, touch. It will be the healthiest, wealthiest year of your life.
