LEADERS NEVER EFFORT TO LOSE IT……
Despite this, Buffett runs his company on a very personal level. “We can
afford to lose money – even a lot of money,” he says. “We cannot afford
to lose reputation – even a shred of reputation…It takes 20 years to
build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it.” Thus, Buffett takes
great pains to ensure that when he hires someone, they will add to that
reputation and not take away from it. And, once they’re hired, he wants
them to think of their business as a family operation. “
People need three qualities. Integrity, intelligence, and energy,” says
Buffett. “And if they don’t have the first, the other two will kill
you. You think about it; it’s true. If you are without first one you
must be lazy and hope less guy.
If I have to choose between money and character, I will select
character. People across the globe are recognized and rewarded for the
reputation they have earned in the life not for the money they have
earned. I am not against money but I will certainly go with character.
Money earned principally is the way of leadership in my eyes. To succeed
at the cost of character have no value.
Money can ruin out character built up in decades by simple mistakes. How
geniuses can effort to loose his creditability? Why Albert Einstein is
still live among all of us?
Leading at the edge is a journey.
