RAY: Leadership is never quiting

Leadership is never quitting. Failure is nothing but a feedback to your efforts, quitting for life time is true failure. Hope is the ever best medicine for mankind. Society must learn form the story of actress Lisa.

At 34, Eva Longoria Parker is an actress, philanthropist, producer, model, restaurateur, spokesperson, and CEO. Her Hollywood success was merely a starting point - she was just getting warmed up. Longoria Parker is involved in a green building initiative, she is co-owner of Beso restaurant in LA, founder of both Unbelievable Entertainment and Eva's Heroes, spokesperson for PADRES - a charity for children with cancer....and her list of achievements go on. Eva is an example of motivation in motion.

Hollywood fortune and fame would have been enough for many but not for this "ambitionista." You see Eva refused to let beginner success become her failure, like so many. "Building on success is a conscious approach. Whenever I do something I want it to be a tent pole for many other businesses." revealed Eva.

Geared for greatness Eva didn't milk stardom even though that may have been an easy street. With eyes constantly fixed on higher heights, Eva refused to let early achievement define her future or ultimately hold her back.

The actress and model, frequently named as one of the most beautiful people in the world by Indian and Canadian media, says she is feeling "reborn" after a stem cell transplant in January to treat multiple myeloma that is Cancer. Lisa fight with the cancer, her story will be very impotent to the cancer patient who lost there hope.

Lisa Ray ,to day she is cure and says she reborn. She said "This has hijacked my life for long enough and now I am going to take matters into my own hands," ...."It's really been a kind of rebirth," she said of her radical stem cell transplant treatment. "It's like being reborn from the inside out. It's a big cleaning from the middle of your marrow and spreading out."Multiple myeloma is a cancer of white blood cells that attacks and destroys bone and which more commonly afflicts people in their mid-60s. There is currently no known cure and treatment is focused on containment. Lisa Ray has won over her Cancer and relieved her body of the deadly disease. The actress is back into the glamour world in her second innings which she terms as her "Rebirth". She underwent a stem transplant therapy and emerged out of the treatment with full success. It is evident that Lisa Ray is now a changed person from within after her experiences. This is inspiration story for cancer patient.

Ten months after being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, Canadian actress Lisa Ray says she is cancer free, has enjoyed being bald, and is ready to embrace her second home, India, with new vigor.

Multiple myeloma is a cancer of white blood cells that attacks and destroys bone and which more commonly afflicts people in their mid-60s. There is currently no known cure and treatment is focused on containment. But Ray, born in Canada to an Indian father and Polish mother, chose to fight back, and chronicle her battle in a painfully honest yet humorous blog that has won her even more admirers.

The glossy-haired star of Bollywood movies "Water" and "Kasoor," showed off her new short-hair look this week in Los Angeles.

Her most recent movie, "Cooking with Stella," opened the Indian Film Festival in the US city as a benefit for the Los Angeles-based Institute for Myeloma & Bone Cancer Research.

"My hair is coming back and it is looking awesome right now. I am just loving it. It is the sleekest and most well-put together I have ever looked," she laughed. Ray recalled that she had cut off her long dark locks for her role in 2007 Oscar-nominated movie "Water." But having her hair fall out while undergoing cancer treatment was a different matter.

"What was traumatic about losing my hair this time was I didn't have a choice. But I have enjoyed being bald," she added, relishing the absence of shampoos, conditioners and hair dryers in her life.

Re-connecting with India

Ray got her first modeling job after being spotted in India at the age of 16 while on a family vacation. And India was the first place she headed for after her stem cell transplant.

"It was the best thing I could have done," she said. "I am planning to divide my time between Bombay and Canada now. I felt really re-embraced and re-connected with a world and people in that world that I had missed, and it feels right to start really re-engaging and spending a lot more time there."

"There has been some tension in my life, living and belonging on two continents. But now I have come to peace with it. I haven't come to some big transcendental conclusion about this, but on a personal level it feels like I really need to absorb both places."

Ray said she wanted to resume her acting and modeling career. But what excites her most is the offer of a publishing contract in India. Details are still under wraps.

"Writing is a renewed passion that I have re-discovered. It is a beautiful way of processing what I have been going through," she said of her blog.

"You can take the pain and understand it through the filter of art.. It's been so valuable and I am definitely going to pursue it. I have a feeling that writing will become increasingly important in my life."

Ray also plans to continue efforts to raise awareness for multiple myeloma. Some 20% of proceeds from ticket sales to the "Cooking with Stella" screening at the Indian film festival in Los Angeles will go towards the Institute for Myeloma & Bone Cancer Research which works on designing new drug therapies for the condition.

"Obviously, it is in my benefit. But we also we have to understand that cancer, not just multiple myeloma, is reaching epidemic proportions and we need to take action," she said.

Re: Business Women Peer Mentoring Spotlight Re: Business Women Peer Mentoring Spotlight - Hi Everyone, Gosh, I REALLY appreciate your concrete feedback. This was far more than I expected and I'm glad you said what you thought straight out. Each of you have shared something of value and I want to take some more time to think and really go over what each of you have said. However, I can see there are some things I need to change right away. What an interesting point about a NEW program perhaps making people think they are guinea pigs! This is NOT what I want to convey! It's funny how we can see some things so clearly in others while not always seeing it for ourselves! I must admit there are a few things I've been meaning to change (like my bio which is very outdated). Obviously, these things need to be higher on my priority list. You caught me like the plumber who puts his clients first and doesn't get around to fixing his own tap! As far as my target market, I do feel quite strongly about working with Women Leaders and doing Leadership Coaching with them. It's non-negotiable in my books. In my Executive Coaching training, the terms "Leaders" and "Executives" are interchangable. To me, an Executive is a Leader and so is the Business Woman or Entrepreneur who is CEO of her own business. I love working with decision makers! What I did learn is that I need to avoid opening up the Leadership term beyond what I described above. I'm also wondering if there is a misunderstanding with the general public as to what Leadership Coaching really is. Leadership Coaching is all about developing your leadership skills, both as a people manager and in more effectively running and growing the business. There is ALWAYS room for growth in some way. As well, sometimes, we just need a sounding board to clarify what our next BEST step is. In fact, if a woman thinks she has nothing to work on, then we aren't a good Client/Coach fit anyway. How can she grow if she doesn't see the value of expressing ALL of the great ability within her? How can her company grow if she doesn't see the value of strategic planning for the next best level? Thanks again to you all! I will go back to my website and really question whether I am conveying the right message. I got more than I bargained for in this Spotlight... you generously offered way more than I was asking. I think we could be on to something great for the Forum. Now it's time to let someone else have the spotlight. It would be great if everyone took a turn! In gratitude, Tami

Why A Project Fails? Why A Project Fails? - Hello Everyone As the size and complexity of ones business grows, so does their need to effectively manage projects. I have been thinking about the major reasons why a project can go wrong and my limited experience comes up with the following. 1 Leadership: A project manager with leadership skills and not just management skills. 2 Failure to (Foresee and) Plan 3 Failure to Manage: Ineffective change management control methods. Unclear decision making guidelines. 4 Talent: Finding, allocating and developing people 5 Scope: Setting an overly ambitious or amibigious project scope 6 Alignment: When projects are not prioritized in alignment with the business strategy, or project members personal objectives are not in tandem with that of the project / company 7 Lack of Candor: Communication Breakdowns I would be interested in knowing everyone's thoughts on this, especially on ways to overcome the above mentioned obstacles. Cheers!
