Six Quick Tips to Terrific Teamwork
Think about your team—what are the types of
people on your team?
Have you ever wondered why some teams are so quick to work
together and others are not? The ultimate understanding is the
chemistry. When the chemistry is right teams work. In the event your
team is not jelling follow these six quick tips
-
Share responsibility among all
team members. This is one of the easiest ways to get the team to
develop mutual accountability. If team members know they must count
on each other then each member does not want to be the one to let
the team down.

Get everyone to know each person's
strengths and weakness. This will aid in getting everyone to build
on each other. We cannot all share the same strength so when
Sharon's strength can assist Bob's weakness, it creates a win–win
for the team.

Team as well as member role
understanding. Too often team members do not understand how what
they are doing plays vision of the organization. This is critical on
an individual basis as well as having the team know what the entire
team does for the benefit of the whole organization.

Encourage members to praise each
other. Like Canadian Geese that honk along their flight it is
important for team members to motivate and encourage each other. One
of the largest misconceptions in business today is that motivation
must come from management. Motivation must come from within and each
member can play a part in increasing others' desires to improve and
self motivate.

Get everyone to know something on
a personal level about each other. This one is a little sticky with
some employees because they feel they are there to work and not to
socialize. While on the surface this is 100% correct - it has been
shown that when employees know something about each other they can
more easily empathize and help the team to grow stronger. Key factor
here - do not force the issue with someone who absolutely does not
want to share. Give them time to come around or if they do not they
may naturally see they are not a good fit for this team and may
leave of their own accord.

Encourage open communication up
the chain of command. When employees feel 100% comfortable in coming
to the team leader about issues, then the team grows significantly.
Be careful not to talk outside of class here. One of the best tools
can easily become a deadly one if the leader shares personal
information. The critical part here is to make sure the entire team
recognizes this and follows suit. Everyone needs to remember, you
can do one of three things when you talk with an employee or
co-worker.

I answer this post, to start off. I am still learning a lot on all these subjects. Moreover, we have a wonderful tool to find out from previous posts.
On the top right corner, use 'Advanced Search' and write 'Search Engine Tips'. It brings up all the previous posts with that information.
Check it out. You will be surprised all the inherent information stored.
The 11-7-06 NEFA Meeting went very well!
- The NEFA meeting held Tuesday November 7th went very well.
The meeting was very well attended and Mary Tomzack of FranchiseHelp, Inc. presented her unique perspective in regards to franchising. Mary also distributed a copy of her book, "Tips & Traps of buying a franchise".
The next NEFA meeting is January 23rd, when the IFA Chairman "Doc" Cohen, an American Cookie Company multi unit franchisee with make a presentation.
I'll post more information when the date gets closer.

- Hello everyone!
My name is Alex, I'm 18 years old and I'm constantly drawing up new ideas and inventing stuff. I sketch stuff down everywhere I go and on anything I can write on. I'm a big member of our local Future Business Leaders of America chapter (FBLA). In the future I hope to work my way up to being a Venture Capitalist. I think of myself as a pretty creative person who is very motivated. Some of the ideas and inventions I come up with are pretty far out but others I consider marketable and to have great potential. Being 18, I have little to no connections and no resources. I've been surfing this site pretty frequently for the last year and have finally decided to join the forum group.
Anyway, here's my question...
Basically, I have no idea how to get a patent together the costs and the overall process. As of now, I think I have a great idea that, as far as I know has not, ever been done before. I'm really excited about this idea. I'm a total novice at this and am willing to learn all that I can. Any information that you can provide me with would be great. Again the main things I want to know are:
1.Overall Process.
2.How Long It Takes.
3.Costs.
4.Anything That You Think I Should Know.
5.Tips/Experiences.
6.Confidentiality.
7.Must I Make A Physical Model of My Idea?
