Ten steps which may change your work and your life!

1. No time I hear from people many times that they don\'t have time to think about what they should do with regards to their work. My response is usually, they cannot afford to not take the time. It\'s your life. It only changes when you do.

2. Each new day brings a new perspective

When you wake up each day, what are the questions you ask yourself? Here\'s a few that you might find useful; What am I grateful for today? Do you realize that? Ask new questions when you wake up and you will gain a whole new perspective

3. The path to authentic work is self awareness

Do you really know yourself? Ask yourself right now; what is it which is missing from my life and what can I do about it? Make sure the missing link is something you really want otherwise you will not do anything about it.

4. Your work becomes your center

When one follows their calling, their work becomes their center of balance. This helps through all the challenges in one\'s life. I know it has helped me and it can help you too. Remember, what we do determines who we are.

5. You are responsible for your own happiness- It can start with your work

No one will run up to you on Monday morning and ask you are you happy in your work. This must come from within you. It all starts with a honest self-assessment of what you really want to do and of course to take those first few steps.

6. Have you defined what success means to you?

Answer the following question; Success to me means: Now, examine your answer. Is this your definition or does it come from someone else? Many people live their lives striving for a vision of success which was determined by someone else. This can make following one\'s passion and one\'s work challenging.

7. Don\'t settle

Don\'t settle for a mundane life filled without joy. It all can start with your work. Remember, what you do determines who you are. What are you passionate about today and why?

8. Rock your boat now

So many people come to me wanting to change and discover and live their passions. Many do take the first step but sadly many go away afraid of what others will say and afraid that it might rock their boat of life. Doing what you love the rest of your life will rock your boat but it will also give you new direction. The sailing won\'t be easy but it will be the best journey you will ever take. What first step can you take today?

9. Look for patterns

Look for patterns in your life and what they mean. For example, what does it mean every time you walk by a specific building or store and you feel new energy. What happens when you watch a certain movie and or are around a specific type of person and suddenly you feel new hope. Pay attention now to these signals. They are the keys to a new path.

10. Have Integrity

Be consistent, be open, be truthful with yourself as to what you want and why. This makes the journey towards vocational passion easier.

I\'ll be cheering you on as you go

Re: 4 Ways to Go From Employee to Entrepreneur Re: 4 Ways to Go From Employee to Entrepreneur - The situation that Wezi describes is more the norm than the exception. I have spoken to many "entrepreneurs-to-be" that have a desire to work for themselves but can't overcome the fear of making that critical leap. The truth of the matter is, if fear is preventing you from moving forward with your own business you need to overcome that fear first. To do this, try this exercise: 1. Write down as many detailed reasons why you are DISSATISFIED with remaining in your job until you retire. E.g., it won't let you achieve the lifestyle you desire; you are sick of commuting an hour each day; etc. 2. Write down in as much detail as possible your VISION of what your life will be like once you have your own business and you are fully engaged in it. Enjoy this step. 3. Create a list of the action steps you need to actually complete to get things rolling. What do you need to do first? Second? Third? Create a step by step plan. These three steps all work together to overcome any resistance you may feel towards making a major change in your career. If after these exercises, you are still too afraid, look at what you have written down. Chances are one of the three forces for change (dissatisfaction, vision, or first steps) are not yet strong enough to overcome your fear. Perhaps, once you really thought about it, things aren't really that bad in your current career, etc.... Hope this helps.
Greetings From Greg Plant Greetings From Greg Plant - I'm an International Business Owner born in London, then moved to Somerset as a child where I still live. I'm in a loving relationship with my wife to be Jo Litster. I live life to the absolute maximum, taking part in all sorts of sports and activities, as I think it’s important to stay fit and well in all areas of life. We live in a fast changing world, and I’m the type of person who likes to control my attitude towards life’s changes, that enable me to master change, rather than allowing change to master me. Meeting and networking with like minded people is a passion of mine, and work with business owners who incorporate the internet for an income. I look forward to growing a great friendship and exchanging ideas! Feel free to contact me any time so we can keep up-dated with each others’ developments! Have a great day! Greg
Re: Theft in my Store!!! Re: Theft in my Store!!! - Hi Tony, Just so we can better understand; are you thinking it is internal, external ,or both? Do you have cameras? They may be expensive, but depending on how much you're losing, it may be worth looking into. It IS hard to establish or keep a good atmosphere when confronting such a thing. No one wants to work in an environment where they don't think their boss trusts them, yet you clearly have a problem that needs addressing if you think it is internal. What are your steps for having them "check-in" when they first start their day? Do you count money when you change cashiers, etc. Tell us a little more about what you are already doing so that we can find ways to help.
you need passion/desire and sustainable persistance you need passion/desire and sustainable persistance - sounds over simplified, but to me it has been very true. starting a business should be more about starting a big life change towards something that you have unwaivering passion and desire to do. the truth is you will never know all you need to know to start the business your a starting. the truth is there are many things that will test your resolve to starting your business. from simple things like making the time to do small tasks or making personal sacrifices like spending less time with your family. i've also come to learn that starting a business is about sustainable persistence. ensure that you can continue to sustain your current responsibilities while taking small steps towards your business everyday. most often, i'd say don't quit your job. assuming you have bills to pay. sustain your ability to take care of those bills while taking those baby steps towards the business you desire. in the end, nothing is overnight. it's more like being a farmer. planting seeds of thought, nurturing them, weathering storms, and working hard everyday with the risk that there may not be any fruit. here's where the passion and desire come in. because if you really are passionate and desire your business idea, you will have no problem re-planting those seeds and starting over again. here's where sustainable persistence comes in. if you disregard your responsibilities in pursuit of your dream business and it doesn't work out, you don't want to have to sell the farm. selling the farm or being put in position where you need to put all your focus on just surviving puts you further away from your dream. think long and hard about that passion/desire. make sure it is true and sincere with your own DNA. if it is true. you will succeed.
Re: Quote of the Day - "Simple is Good." - Jim Henson Re: Quote of the Day - "Simple is Good." - Jim Henson - I like it Even complex problems or solutions can be simplified by breaking them down into simple steps. I like looking at the end objective and then back up a step at at time to see how that step helps or hinders the end objective Try it: I want to get paid! What simple steps do you have to take to get paid, but work backwards
