When people need your help is your process simple, quick, and easy?
It is common sense to me, due to the power of technology, that when people need our help, the process of getting help from us should be simple, let alone quick and easy.
In the past week I have been upgrading/changing many things to coincide with the launch of my changing what's normal book. I have had many technological challenges and have had to call for help from many service providers.
I have been very disappointed with the lack of help I have received. One exception has been my internet strategist Gihan Perera and his team at First Step.
My conclusion: Most online providers make it very difficult for us to find out how we can get help from them in the first place! And, their service, once we do find out, leaves a lot to be desired.
I am a big fan of LinkedIn. I have tried for 3 days tochangemy photo on my LinkedIn profile and keep encountering an unknown error. After searching for 20 minutes I found out how to contact LinkedIn for help and sent an email. I got an automatic response saying we will get back to you soon. I am still waiting to hear back from LinkedIn and have ended up fixing the photo problem myself!
I am a big fan of Apple, typing this on my Mac, and trying to call them on my iphone. I am finding it very difficult to get any help.
How simple, quick and easy is it for people to contact you when they need your help?
My experience of most online providers, including all the big names, is that their service is pathetic, in fact most make it hard for us to get help when we need it.
Great service is a given today. It is normal. What most of us expect is more. As I write in Changing What's Normal, we expect to be wooed and wowed. Most online providers in my experience woo and fail miserably to wow.
Since 1991 I have partnered with passionate and enlightened leaders in changing what's normal for the good of yourself, other people, our planet, and for profit.
My specialisations are:
Change people can actually
believe in and make happen
Change where everyone can win (the technical term is creating
shared value or CSV) a business growth strategy referred to in a recent
Harvard Business Review article by Michael E. Porter and
Mark R. Kramer as The Big Idea.
My fourth book changing what's normalcontains 58
sparkenations.
A sparkenation is a word I created to denote:a spark that ignites passion that leads to action that changes
what’s normal.
You can check out my books outline,
download 3 sparkenations with my compliments, or purchase here.

Re: how do I get started with Wordpress blog?
- The main difference between blogger and Wordpress is that wordpress is open source.
Since it is also the most popular blogging platform it has thoasands of people working on it, adding new features, extra options, which are easy to add and implement to your site.
Blogger is very simple and super easy to use out of the box, but at the same time it is inflexible and becomes cumbersome when you want to do more with your site.
I've seen a lot of site owners switch from blogger to wordpress once there site has grown, and this process is not easy and you then have to learn a new blogging platform.
Also blogger being indexed quicker is largely myth. There's a grain of truth in it but the effect is so small its not worth the consideration. If quick indexing, free and a hosted domain (e.g yoursite.blogspot.com or yoursite.wordpress.com or blogplatform.com/yoursite) are your main choices for getting a blog then blogger is not your best choice. Vox is usually better for this due to the massive internal linking from the main authority domain (vox.com) - just add a few friends etc. to build some internal links from vox.com to your site. Xanga and Orble are other choices.the downside is these platforms have less freedom than blogger, and put in their own ads.
In terms of ranking wordpress blogs tend to do a lot better than all platforms since they can be finely optimized with the right theme and SEO plugins.
My advice if you are serious about an online presence is start with the best (wordpress), using your own domain as it will be the best choice in the long run and lead you to success more quickly.

- Similar question was given in another thread and I gave this answer:

Services Offered/Wanted Section
- Given the fact that we are entrepreneurs here and can't possibly be strong in all fields it might be a good idea to have such a section.
This way we can leverage the skillset of the member base on the forum. It can come in the form of trading services between business owners, for a fee, or just straight out pro bono.
It can also be helpful when people are in a bind and need quick help or need to ask a question of someone more specialized in that field.
Might be a good idea to have a easy to peruse listing of members and what exactly they do, there past experiences and skillsets.
In business when your helping others in most cases your helping yourself in the process.
Re: Quick Ways To Utilize SEO Effectively
- WebBizIdeas.com,
I've been looking for a quick effective way to utilize SEO. This almost sounds too simple but I will give it a try. We've already been linking to as many websites as we have time to link to. Do you think that will help as well?
