Leading companies “mining” workforce for emotional intelligence
Develop your emotional
intelligence.
Apple, Southwest Airlines, Google, Infosys, Disney,
Whole Foods, Fed Ex and a growing number of other companies are systematically “mining” the workforce in search of
emotionally intelligent individuals. These organizations realize
that those people are the primary source of their success. They are proving
that the path to superior business results is through the development of the
emotional intelligence within their organizations.
Emotional intelligence capabilities have been shown to
increase results far
more than IQ or technical expertise. Studies have shown it
typically takes an IQ of 110-120 to get an advanced degree like an MBA which
focuses primarily on left brain cognitive abilities. There is a high selection
pressure for IQ to enter the executive ranks within corporations and relatively
little variation among those who are in those ranks. But there has been
little or no selection pressure when it comes to emotional intelligence.
And so there is a much wider range of EI variation among individuals.
Superiority in these capabilities counts far more than IQ when it comes to
performance. Within companies actively engaged in organizational change
emotional intelligence has become the key hiring and promotional
consideration.

Tears and talking out loud with yourself will lighten your mental pain. Tears,like laughter, are an emotional release...It is not a sign of weakness.
Tears, Laughter and screams are simply emotional safety valves. They keep you mentally fit so you could move forward . . . one day at a time.

- I have to agree with several of the previous posts here. Having your own site so that you can get it ranked is a big one.
Also, as stated above, using a "passive" recruiting style works really well. Leading by example, people will naturally want to follow you over time if you prove yourself a leader.
Bottom line, if you are promoting your opportunity or products, you are losing sales. About 85% of the population hates to be sold. Promote YOU, build relationships and let the business fall in place after that.

- This is a great post Barbara and I can see you put a lot of thought into it,
I have been planning my retirement for the last couple of years now which is yet another reason why I decided to branch out on my own. I was getting absolutely nowhere in the ' ordinary workforce'. Just getting by week after week was not what I wanted from my life so I decided it was time I did something about it.
