Inauthentic businesses are in competition for profits with everybody ... their customers, business partners, suppliers, even their employees. The best companies are thriving not because of one leader's emotional intelligence but because they are cultivating the leadership throughout the entire organization. With the increasingly rapid rate of change organizations with low levels of emotional intelligence and employee engagement are becoming less viable. The way to retain talent and increase engagement is to apply what makes employees exceptional to what they do and how they do it. The good news is with today's focus on actions and results the opportunity to create a great organization is better than ever. Emotionally intelligent employees develop deeper client relationships that enable them to become the trusted authority within your market space.

Organizations with a high level of emotional intelligence have a ratio of engaged to actively disengaged employees of 9.57:1. And the ratio of fully engaged customers to actively disengaged customers is 0.8:1.
