Positive Attitude is Power for Leadership

There really is no other way to make this point. Your attitude defines your success. Why is that so true? Simply stated, your attitude holds the power by which you will lead and accomplish your goals. Your attitude is what will ultimately impact others even more so than the value of what you may be offering to your team and/or clients.

It has been said that "no one cares how much you know until they know how much you care." Therefore, add these guidelines to your thought process before you take your next step in leadership.

• What type of experience do I want to bring to my clients and team?
• Have I clearly defined and shown the proper attitude that should be brought into the task?
• Have I created the proper environment to sustain the attitude I expect from others?
• Have I set the proper positve standards and expectations for those who follow my leadership?
• Does my attitude define focus or frustration on the journey to reach the goal?

Knowing in advance the answer to these questions will clearly outline a path of success that cannot easily be altered. Your attitude is your lifeline to success. Take the time to harness its power and be positive in your efforts to lead others towards the ultimate goal. The rewards are limitless when a positive mentality is found at the core of the leader.

Re: Who hates cold calling? - About 15 years ago I worked for this sales company that used to sell anything from Kitchen Knives to Dry Cell Torches. The owner was a very motivating guy and he would ask us to get to the office by 7.00AM and we could sing and dance for an hour before we went to sell the products in the streets, stopping anyone and telling them our products were on discount. We used to sell snow to Eskimos, why were we able to do that? because of PMA (Positive Mental Attitude). The key to cold calling is like beauty, in eyes of the beholder. If you have no PMA, you cannot sell. Remember the law of average that states that if you went to a dance and every girl or guy you approached for a dance decline your proposal. What do you do? Do you stop? If you have a PMA, you continue until you get one person who agree to dance with you despite how ugly you look, that is is PMA and that is the power of cold calling.

As a conductor of your own enterprise, you can not see yourself as a one-woman-show. You must choose to utilize the power people in your life, by asking for help when you need it, and effectively delegating in order to capitalize on your strengths and that of your power network. When certain experts are not represented in your power network, you must actively seek advisors or mentors and develop a team of specialists, so the benefits are received by everyone involved in the power network - the true Power of Power Networks.
