Core values is something often recognized, discussed, and claimed present in the lives of many leaders but very few actually understand what core values really mean.

Simply put: Core values are the essence of a pre-determined value system that has been put in place for the benefit of others.

Many claim to have such a system of belief, but it has often been made with themselves as the centerpiece. That is the exact opposite of what core values represent. Here's an example of what true core values with others in mind:

These are examples of core values made for the benefit of the people you affect. This is critical to your success. Ensure your value system supports your beliefs.
