Setting Goals

"The important thing is this: to be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are for what we could become."

- Charles DuBois

I'm sure you, like millions of others, have begun working on resolutions and goals for the upcoming year. We applaud you for your actions, and this week, our concentration will be on this very subject. All too often despite the honest efforts of millions, most goals are either forgotten, or push aside the moment the challenges arise after the new year has begun. The reasons vary but the resolutions generally fail for one or more of the following reasons:

When setting your goals for the new year. Use this premise:

Base your goals upon the ultimate outcome you expect to have once the goals are completed.

This simple alteration in your thinking will put your decision making skills to better use immediately.

Stephen R. Covey is quoted as saying: "Know from the beginning, the end." If you perform this critical step in your goal setting, your chances of reaching your aspirations becomes profoundly more attainable. Your decisions will be more logical, and you'll find others following your leadership and you will exceed your expectations.

EvanCarmichael.com suggestion EvanCarmichael.com suggestion - Maybe I missed it but I would like to suggest that a Blog be created to support the Forum. The idea is that in the blog you put in snippets of some of the biggest conversations with a 'read more' link to the forum itself. Setting up the Blog and clipping some conversations onto it wouldn't take very long.
