A Simple Method For Achieving More

Break your previous patterns!

Past experiences mould the patterns in our mind, our beliefs, habits and how we behave. Changing these ideas and ways thinking can be very hard. This is especially true if we try and don’t succeed at things, we just tell ourselves we can’t achieve this and stop trying.

For instance, in India, when a baby elephant is raised, it is attached to a solid foundation with a big solid chain on one of its hind legs to stop it breaking free. It will try many times to escape, but will not have the strength to do so. As the elephant grows to a three-ton adult, the captives replace the chain with a rope which the elephant could easily break. However the elephant will not try to break free from this rope and stay captive, due to its previous experiences of failing.

We need to ask ourselves, what is making us believe we can’t achieve things? What is blocking our positive thought patterns and turning them negative? We need to find out what the past experience or experiences were, that are making us feeling this way, deal with them and re-train our minds and thoughts to be positive, to try again and achieve.

An example of mine, changing my way of thinking from negative to positive, was after one of my early presentations. My Manager humiliated me in front of my peers by saying my presentation was ‘rubbish’. I was devastated! I believed and convinced myself he was right. This belief lasted several months and whenever I was asked to present I declined, always having an excuse ready. However deep down I knew I was a really good presenter and decided to change, so I did. The outcome has been, that I have since hosted many successful presentations and have recently hosted a corporate event in front of 400 people and received rave reviews.

So if you think positive, deal with your past demons and tell yourself you can achieve and change, you will and change for the better!

What makes you keep coming back for more? What makes you keep coming back for more? - I am researching on personal preferences that keeps the visitors coming back to a web site. What would be great is if people would list out their preferences of what keeps them interested to keep visiting a website in order or importance. For me it is:- 1. Content – Value, Depth and Recency of Information provided 2. User Friendliness – Easy Navigation, Simple graphic design etc. 3. Service – download time, contactability etc.
Re: how do I get started with Wordpress blog? Re: how do I get started with Wordpress blog? - I agree that anybody thinking about starting a Wordpress blog should buy a domain name and set up a hosting account. When choosing a hosting account, make sure it is one that is set up for Wordpress and includes an easy installation script such as "Simple Scripts". Two web hosts I'd particularly recommend for Wordpress are Bluehost and Hostgator.
