When I first started out as a manager, 25 years ago, on $4 dollars an hour, I wanted my pay to take off fast and I ensured it did. One year I received 30% pay rise.
If you want to gain the maximum pay rise, ensure you concentrate on the skills and behaviours, which First-Class Managers do.
Respected First-Class Managers focus on:
Unshakeable Confidence
Unshakeable Confidence is all about YOU. Your drive, mindset, attitude and how you make decisions.
How much do you want to be a respected First-Class Manager, earning a top income and having the freedom to enjoy your life to the full?
Do you have the confidence to try new things, step outside of your comfort-zone, shake-off mistakes you make or knock-backs or negative personal comments?
When you are a Manager you receive the ‘bad press’ as well as the ‘great press’. Things won’t go well and you’ll get the blame. Can you shake that off, learn from it, move on and become even better?
Can you make decisions fast with little data or knowledge?
Million-Dollar Influence
Million-Dollar Influence is all about how you approach and handle relationships. Relationships can boost your Management career beyond your wildest dreams and on the contrary, they can kill your chances of any career.
That’s why I call it ‘Million-Dollar Influence’. Relationships can make you or lose you a million dollars!
Relationships, I believe, are key and absolutely fundamental for having a First-Class Management Career.
And when I say relationships, the following skills come to mind: persuasion, motivation, presenting, public speaking, communicating, questioning, listening, writing, emails, chairing meetings.
I am sure you could add a few as well!
Stress-Free Productivity
Stress-Free Productivity is all about accepting change and getting things done, easily, simply and fast.
It is about improving your productivity.
It is about time management, planning, goal setting, setting assignments, managing your paperwork, multi-tasking, execution, continuous improvement and adapting to change urgently.
Instant Respect
A definition of respect: To take notice of; to regard with special attention; to regard as worthy of special consideration; hence, to care for; to heed.
A respected manager is one, which individuals want to work for. Think about a time when you respected someone. Did you mind working for them? Did you mind helping them? Did you mind ‘going the extra mile’ for them? Did you mind being very flexible. I bet you did not; mainly because you respected them.
When you are a respected manager, you get more things done through others and that’s want makes a First-Class manager.
Remember, now you are a manager you are valued as a result of your output and deliveries. That’s it, just the results of your output and deliveries.
A First-Class and Respected Manager knows how to get so much done, everyone else is just amazed at how they do it!
If you want, the bigger pay raises, practice and excel at these skills and behaviours.
