First of all, let me start out by saying that this article is merely my observation and opinion, nothing more.
Some people are a great interview. They're bright, attractive, articulate, charming and so doggone irressistable you can't help but like them. They make a great first impression, so you hire them.
But did you hire the right person for the job?
Were they really the most qualified?
That's the question surrounding political phenomenon and media darling, Sarah Palin. She makes a great first impression. But as charming and likeable as she is, do you honestly think she's the most qualified person to be vice-president of the United States?
I don't.
Just A Small Town Mayor
Let's examine her experience and see what we come up with. She was mayor of a small town of less than 10,000 people. I personally don't have anything against small towns. But I don't think a small town mayor is qualified to be vice-president of the United State?
Do you think your small town mayor is qualified to be vice-president?
Moving on.
Governor of Alaska
She's been the governor of Alaska for less than two years. Let's put that into perpective. Alaska is a scarcely populated state of approximately 600,000 people, that has nowhere near the cultural
problems and complicated issues of much more densely populated states such as New York, California or Texas that have tens of millions of people.
On top of that, she's currently under investigation for abuse of power, for firing public safety commissioner Walter Monegan. Monegan said that his dismissal may have been tied to his reluctance to fire Mike Wooten, an Alaska State Trooper who is also Palin's ex-brother-in-law.
At the time Palin dismissed Monegan, Wooten was involved in a custody battle with his former wife, Molly McCann, Palin's sister.
So she also has that ugly investigation hanging over her head. Now to be fair, those who support governor Palin, will point out she has executive experience.
Executive experience?
Give me a freakin' break!
Anyone who runs a business has executive experience. I have executive experience too. And as egotistical and brilliant as I think I am, I know for a fact that I don't have the experience to be vice-president of the United States. Nothing like it!
I'd venture to say most business executives would admit they also don't have the necessary experience
to be vice-president.
By the way, did you see Palin's interview with ABC's Charlie Gibson?
This person wants to be vice-president of the United States, and she doesn't even know what the "Bush Doctrine" is? But wait, it gets even better or worse, depending on your point of view. When asked about her foreigh policy experience she said, "I can see Russia from my house."
History Of Cancer
This would be hilarious if it wasn't so serious. People wakeup! This woman is going to be a heartbeat away from the presdidency. John McCain is 72 years old with a history of cancer. If he's elected and
dies in office, folks, Sarah Palin is the president.
John McCain reportedly interviewed Palin one time, and hired her to be his vice-president. Can you believe that?
I've personally taken more time than that to hire sales people.
