Think Positive, Think Success

There are many types of people in this world. However, today, and for the purpose of this article, I am going to put everyone into either the ‘positive’ type or the ‘negative’ type.

Which one would you naturally fit into?

Which one would your friends say you would naturally fit into?

What about your family, what would they say?

The answer to this question could be different to your own!

I know individuals who fit into both types.

The ‘negative’ type is often their own worst enemy, especially when they allow their negative feelings to stop them achieving their goals.

They focus only on the negative outcomes that could potentially result.

In other situations they allow their anger to cloud their judgment. It’s almost as if they love a good moan, love getting upset and love an argument.

Some say opposites attract but when it comes to positive and negative type of people I don’t think that is true.

Positive people tend to mix with other positive and optimistic people, and of course negative people cluster together like cattle.

So what’s the difference?

The difference between the two groups is that the optimistic ones tend to simply stroll through life knowing that whatever challenges they encounter they will quickly and easily overcome them.

The negative type will always look for the bad in things and struggle through life and blame others for their own failings.

I used to run an IT department and when someone rang the IT Helpdesk, you could immediately tell what type of person they are – positive or negative.

The positive person would be cheerful and courteous even though they had a problem. They would work with the Helpdesk Analyst and resolve the issue.

The negative individual with the same problem would ring up frustrated, angry and launch into abusing the product or service. While the support staff attempts to help the customer, they quickly become frustrated at the customer’s refusal to provide the needed information.

The customer insists upon escalating problem to a supervisor or manager where the abuse continues. After 30 minutes of arguing with various supervisors and managers and with no resolution in sight, hangs up.

Positive people have less stress than negative people and they tend not to worry as much. They understand that things happen, more importantly they also understand that a solution will be found. Their aim is to simply resolve the issue as quickly and efficiently as possible.

The negative person just loves the argument, the moaning and loves saying, “I told you so” when things turn out wrong.

Those who think positively and optimistically are far more likely to be successful in both their business and personal lives. They can’t help but know that everything is going to work out the way they expect it to, if not even better.

Those who think negatively are far more likely to struggle. They think things are just not worth doing and not worth the effort because “it won’t work” or “that will never happen”.

Which type are you?

Do you like being around negative or positive people.

Re: Who hates cold calling? Re: Who hates cold calling? - About 15 years ago I worked for this sales company that used to sell anything from Kitchen Knives to Dry Cell Torches. The owner was a very motivating guy and he would ask us to get to the office by 7.00AM and we could sing and dance for an hour before we went to sell the products in the streets, stopping anyone and telling them our products were on discount. We used to sell snow to Eskimos, why were we able to do that? because of PMA (Positive Mental Attitude). The key to cold calling is like beauty, in eyes of the beholder. If you have no PMA, you cannot sell. Remember the law of average that states that if you went to a dance and every girl or guy you approached for a dance decline your proposal. What do you do? Do you stop? If you have a PMA, you continue until you get one person who agree to dance with you despite how ugly you look, that is is PMA and that is the power of cold calling.
Re: Don’t worry, Enrich your life and Be happy Re: Don’t worry, Enrich your life and Be happy - [quote="lisa":1rc4ik2q]Start saying positive things especially about yourself. How you communicate to yourself affects your thinking and your emotions, as well as your self-esteem.Change your mental pictures. What and how you see yourself and your surroundings make a difference to your thinking.Read more. Read about how those people who fought fear with courage and succeeded in life. Through reading, you will gain new knowledge and understanding and it will help you clear whatever is blocking your thinking and create more ideas. [/quote:1rc4ik2q] Lisa is right about this. Positive self talk can really make a difference. When you catch yourself saying something negative (whether verbally or just thinking it), turn it around and make it into the opposite. You have to remember to do this continually until it's just habit that the positive thought/saying becomes the first thing you hear instead of the second. It becomes automatic.
