Data processing Requirements

To process the data, we rely on electronic data processing today. But there are certain requirements to process our data. Below mentioned, are the main considerations while understanding the data processing requirements:

1. Volume of data involved

2. Complexity of the data processing operation

3. Processing time constraints

4. Computational demand

1. The volume of the Data Involved

The consideration is very important, simply because if you have more workload, then you will be requiring more resources. Volume of data refers to the amount of data that we. are going to process. For example, the data of utility service-providers, the data at large corporation or large banks having millions of transaction per day. explain the volume of data involved. Soothe data processing requirements will be higher and sophisticated.

2. Complexity of the Data Processing Operation

The complexity of the data processing refers to the intricacies involved in the data processing operation. How complex is the processing, what is the relationship among the data elements, what sort of output is to be produced all these things express the level of complexity. For example. Processing student results is a simple operation, because this involves only summing up the scores, calculating the percentage and grade. But if we think about the data related to calculations, then it is complex, because that data come from thousands of places, there are several taxes paid by the people, and on different calculations, some rebates are given according to the policies of the government, this all explains the complexity of the data processing operation.

3. The Processing Time Constraints

This major consideration is about the time limit or the time allocated to process a certain job. Because, in real life situations, we find there is always limited time available for the processing of data, so while determining the requirements, one must consider the time allocated for the particular operation. For example, the utility services providers have limited time for their data processing, as they collect the data at the month end and before a certain date they have to prepare the utility bills for the subscribers. Another example is, share floated in the market are to be delivered to the shareholders within the 45 days under CLA regulations.

4. The Computational Demands

Computational demands are the special requirements to process the data. For example, to process the data regarding weather would require having a specialized machine capable of processing the weather data. This can be understood as the combination of both volume and complexity of the data operations. Because if these two things are very much dominant, then this will lead to have some very powerful setup.
