Brian Klemmer's Legacy and Rise as Master Trainer

How does a master trainer get called to service? How does a student from military college build a multi-million dollar personal development company? Could he envision he would own a multi million dollar personal training development company that would touch the hearts of millions?

I was a tall awkward teen on a high school field trip to see the great jazz legend Oscar Peterson play. After years of playing classical music and going through the music conservatory boot camps, seeing Oscar play was magical. At the age of fourteen, I felt a deep connection to the music, and I vividly remember as I sat there in awe and said to myself "I want to do that!" I proceeded to make it a reality. Fast forward thirty years, I found myself with the same deep stir in my soul. This time, its when Isaw T.Harv Eker on stage promoting his book "Millionaire Mind" in front of a 2000 person crowd. Each soul seemed hypnotized into a state that had them gripped to their chairs for the entire three-day event.I was hooked. I looked at that tiny little man and said "I want do that!".

Perhaps it may have been the same feeling Brian Klemmer had experienced as a young manat West Point when his buddy took Brian to experience his first seminar. Brian's mentor was Tom Whillhite. Tom died prematurely, in a plane accident that took his life at the young age of 43. This would have a significant impact on Brian, who went on to carry his mentor's legacy in many ways.

One of these powerful ways was to create apersonal development training company that had international reach, including Australia, Russia and Canada. Though Brian had a few best selling books in his catalogue, they perhaps didn't have as much media reach as his contemporaries. However,as a master trainer, Brian Klemmer was definately in the top ranks ofTony Robbins, T. Harv Eker, Mark Victor Hansen, Deepak Chopra, Robert Kyosaki, amongst others.

One of the significant ways Brian built his company wasthrough the solid support of the Christian community.Brian's programs focused on personal development and leadership, which was warmly welcomed by both pastors andChristian leadersworld-wide. The popularity of his trainings were supported by locals, and word-of-mouth spread far and wide enough to grow this company into a multi-million dollar operation within 10 years.

What may be lesser known, was that Brian was the number one call for some of the largest multi-level marketing companies in the world. Brian knew that it took more than the will to earn more money to succeed. So, he preferred not to be just a "ra-ra" inspirational speaker. In fact, he wrote a book "If How To's Were Enough, We'd All Be Skinny, Rich and Happy". He knew that in order to create more business for a business owner and/or entrepreneur, that he would have to create a deep shift in their consciousness in order to help them overcome their own limitations. His leadership programs helped "ordinary people" become extraordinary, or Samurai's, Judging by the thousands of online testimonials pouring throughout the world of social media, he was indeed succeeding at creating significant change in the world.

What I admired most about Brian Klemmer is that he was a master trainer. As a trained pianist, I can walk into a concert and my ears are trained differently than the average listener. When I hear the music, I coud "see" the notes on the page and I vividly experience the hand passages in my mind. It's equivalent toplaying the notes in my mind's eye, and I could feel the committment of the musician.Watching Brian was like watching a master concert pianist. It was a joy for me.As a trainedtrainer, I could see what most people could not see. We shared many smiles over this.

Everything he did on stage was brilliant. He was an authentic trainer totally devoted to the spirit of empowering other people's lives. In addition to his true spirit of service, he also was a master closer. In order to help lots of people, there is a basic economic need that one needs to earn revenue in order to help the masses. So, Brian, knew how to get people to take action.I studied his techniques very carefully, and he got people to buy into change. He did it all without the hype, without the NLP, without the lights, without gimmicks, without the bellsand whistles. It was pure, raw, authentic change he was selling, and people were buying.

I would be naughty of me to share all the secrets of a master trainer. That would be like telling you the best secrets of a master magician. But I can tell you that Brian knew that it wasn't the job of student to learn anything. It was the job of the mentor to have the student experience something powerful enough, that it would impact the studentwith such profound intensity that the student had no other outcome then to create powerful change. He had the gift. He had the formula.

Off stage, the man was also brilliant at creating relationships and nurturing them. He knew how to create accountability in his team, and several times, I heard him on the phone applying pressure at just the right temperature, so the result would get created. He had a vision, deep commitment and knew how tocreate mechanisms even if they had to appear out of thin air. He had challenges to.

A couple of years ago, Brian must have experienced one of the most difficult climbs in his career. Just before the recession, he lived through a verydifficult break up with his best friend and business partner. Even though I just met him at the tail end of that experience, he didn't hide his heart ache. It was that difficult for him. He was still healing through this, and navigating a way to heal the wounds it left in his family and hiscompany when the recession was quietly creeping up on its American citizens.

Klemmer and Associates not onlysurvived, it had adopted new mechanisms that saw them rank # 1 on google for "leadership training" and the website was now proving to itself a wise investment. When I met up with him three weeks ago, he was so thrilled to share that his first quarter was far better than anyone expected. Brian was feeling great and grateful.

I was in Hawaii when I noticed all the good wishes to Brian who had just turned 61. A few days later, I was reading hundreds of condolences and expressions of sorrow over Brian's unexpected death. Everyone of those posts were amazing testimonials to Brian Klemmer as a friend, a mentor, a public speaker, a best selling author, a trainer, a possibility thinker, are just a few ways he will be remembered.

But let history show he was a Master Trainer, one of the best of the 21st Century.

Napoleon on Project Management Napoleon on Project Management - Why do I include this in a list of books aimed at female entrepreneurs? Well...in the expectation that there are as many female history buffs as male ones, and in the belief that anyone interested in history will find this book fascinating, while those interested in project management will learn a thing or two. I think this was the first "gimmick" book - an author using a historical figure (usually a male, military figure, it must be admitted) to talk about modern day business management. I refuse to read any of the kind that advocates - even obliquely - the techniques of the Sopranos or the Mossad - but these military ones are pretty fun. Anyway: Only in the understanding of history, Napoleon might say, do we gain an understanding of strategy in the present. In the same spirit, Napoleon on Project Management offers the recipe for successfully managing your commitments using the strategies, tactics and priorities that propelled Napoleon himself to victory.
