People do business with the people they know, trust, and like. Most publishers are looking for good articles to fill their magazines and will welcome your contributions. If you want to get published make sure your articles are educational and not simply self serving.


Write informative and educational letters to the editor to your industry’s trade publications or your local newspaper. Try to be a little controversial without being over the top, this creates interesting perspectives and sets you apart from everyone else.While othershave opinions, experts have experience, and so they share theirs regularly.


Develop your website, so it is loaded with useful free content covering your area of expertise. If, for example, your specialty is carpet cleaning, create a website loaded with useful ideas on how to select a carpet cleaner, the health benefits of regular carpet cleaning, tips on how to remove stains and ideas on how to care for carpets. Load it with value includinggive-aways, coupons, industry news, and have others build your content for you. Accept articles.


Master your public speaking skills. Make yourself visibile and known as the 'go-to' public speaker in your industry. Being one of the top calls, earns you the most visibility andgarners most of the trust. The best speakers garner the most trust, and the one that holds the power of trust, is the one thatreaps the rewards. The steady flow of new prospects and recognition comes with this learned skill.

I haven't had a chance to read all the replies and i have to jet from the office... I suggest marketing where ever your Target Market congregates. If it's a forum of concerned parents - go there. Strike up a deal with the forum owner (JV) and have him promote it to the list of members (Integration Marketing). If you want to go with Forums then i would partner with a parent who is a frequent poster/moderator on a particular Target Market Forum and have him/her add your link to their signature. That was just a thought but it's not as intense once you get buy in from the Forum owner or high ranked poster/moderator. Hope that sparks some new ideas.
