How to drop the balls

Most business owners, especially those with rapidly growing businesses have far too many tasks on their plates. How do they juggle all the priorities? It seems that the only way is to either delegate or to simply drop some of the tasks. Here’s a way to look at dropping tasks and get more leverage on your time.

Eliminate it.

Each day, take a look at each of your scheduled tasks and decide if the world will stop if you don’t do it. If the answer is no, just don’t do it.

Lower your standards.

I can almost hear the cries of pain! However if you do lower your standards for certain activities you can redefine done. For example do you really need to respond to every e-mail from customers and staff, or is it enough to simply read the important ones. Many are sent simply to keep you informed.

Guard your time

This is about setting reasonable expectations for yourself. For example, instead of working every weekend, guard your weekends jealously. Spend the time with family or doing things you love. If you do this, you will find you are unable to complete everything you did before. This will force you to drop, delegate or redefine completion.

Re: What would you like to see be invented? Re: What would you like to see be invented? - Ok members so here's the plan, You wear a bleeper on yourself and there is a worldwide system where every time you buy golf balls you give your bleeper code to the vendor who links them to it so only your balls will bleep when you get near to them which you only switch on when your ball is lost. Second, they don't work under water to protect the little froggies, LOL. Any other ideas before I go for the worldwide patent?? Mal.
Re: What would you like to see be invented? Re: What would you like to see be invented? -
Just like there are sticky rollers- I'd like there to be something just like that, but that removes the chunky little fluff balls that bunch up on wool sweaters, fleece, towels (etc)... Unless something like that already exists, I don't know?...but that's just one simple, small idea. I'm tired of picking them off all the time![/quote:376ejkov] I know that you can get something called a fluff shaver. It looks very much like a man's electric razor and it shaves those little fluff balls off sweater etc. MichelleJ
Re: My Brags: Backlogs & Punitive Refunds Re: My Brags: Backlogs & Punitive Refunds - Hi David, Have you tried the drop shipping route? Or may be the product you sell cannot be drop shipped?
Re: Isnt Dropshipping better? Re: Isnt Dropshipping better? -
I believe the best way would be to find a drop shipping company so that you dont have to buy before you sell. Once you sell, just forward the order and money (less your margins) to the drop shipping company.[/quote:134hnqs3] A concern I would have with this approach is that you need an honest drop ship company and I'd prefer some sort of non compete agreement in place. Basically, you send the orders for the to fill and an aggressive company could easily "take" your customer mailing list. Might never happen, but something to consider and especially with a smaller company. Shri
Re: What would you like to see be invented? Re: What would you like to see be invented? - Eureka !! GT, you have cracked the problem. we would first buy a beeper and all the balls we buy after that would be matched to it so that they would only beep when you get close, now where's that patent office, LOL, Mal.
