Offline Strategies for Driving Traffic to Your Website

Online business owners are all familiar with the typical online strategies for driving traffic to a website- pay per click marketing, like Google's adwords; article marketing; giving away free gifts to build your database of contacts, etc. But what about the offline marketing strategies that can actually drive traffic to your website?

It's easy to overlook or underestimate the value of more traditional methods of marketing when you're looking to build your business online. Learning how to use offline strategies in combination with your online business or website can be one of the best things you do in terms of increasing traffic to your website.

Direct Mail Tear Sheets: One method of offline marketing that offers a good conversion rate (driving a high percentage of people to your website) is the use of direct mail tear sheets. When your press release or article is printed in a magazine or newspaper, making a photocopy of that piece and mailing it to your contact list is very effective in generating interest to your website. People who receive it are very likely to then type in your website URL and visit your site to find out more about you and what you have to offer.

If you haven't gotten an article or press release published, you can be a little tricky and create one on your computer and make copies for the same result!

Speaking From the Stage: Talking to someone in your target market one on one is going to give the highest conversions – as high as 90% of people in your target market that you talk to one on one will end up buying or taking action from what you say. The trouble is it would take far too long to approach each person one at a time. Speaking from the stage to a group of people who are considered your target market, is your next best option. Typical conversions from this method of offline marketing is around 30 to 50%. This means that in a room of 200 people, between 60 and 100 of them will sign up or take action based on the offer in your presentation.

Teleseminars: Delivering your presentation by phone typically offers a 10-20% conversion rate, which is still a great way to market your site through offline methods and helps you leverage your time by having the ability to talk from your home or wherever you are at the moment and to a group of people all at once.
