How to Rank High on Google - Aggressive White Hat SEO Tips

When it comes to ethical SEO technique, aggressive white hat is how you need to approach SEO. Just think "value" when it comes to white hat SEO. White hat is ethical search engine techniques approved by the big players such as Google. With aggressive white hat SEO tactics, "slow and steady wins the race" - every time! White hat SEO is every element you add to your sites, blogs, etc. that add VALUE and credibility.

• Write GREAT, unique content

• Post innovative video/audio to sites

• Create a consistent, worthwhile "community"

• You want visitors to see your site as a source of value-packed information (keep them coming back for MORE!)

Steer Clear of Black Hat SEO

In the SEO realm, black hat is the unethical approach to SEO and should always be avoided at all costs. Webmasters think black hat SEO will bump their rankings quickly and they will be sitting on top off Google. That's not the case. At some point they'll be caught and bumped right out of search engines and permanently banned.

Avoid shortcuts and steer clear of ANY shady company that promises you #1 search engine ranking OVERNIGHT for a ridiculously low price (that just screams SCAM!) Any practice that purposely deceives search engines should be avoided. Black hat only hurts you in the long run.

Black hat SEO includes the following unethical practices:

• Keyword stuffing - placing too many keywords throughout your content/web sites (so it doesn't make sense)

• Hidden text - i.e. placing white text against a white background

• Cloaking - visitors see one thing on website but content is presented in a different way to search engine spiders.

• Doorway pages - these pages for a form of cloaking (these "fake" pages don't have any real content and are created to trick spiders and rank for keywords only).

• Cookie stuffing - Cookies are strings of text stored on computers' web browsers (as a result of third-party sites). The trick: consumers visit that website within 60 days ( a cookie is stored for 60 days) and makes a purchase - as a result, the affiliate receives a fraudulent commission off that sale.

• Redirects - Creating a page filled with unique content and once it's ranked high, you redirect to another page on your site (i.e. your shopping cart page)

How to Rank #1 on Google

You can get to the TOP when it comes to Google's rankings. First, you need to figure out how much you know about SEO and research competition in your market. When you DO make it to the top of Google, great things will happen for you and your company! You will start to get busy and you will have MORE than enough business/clients.

Check out these following white hat tips:

• Spend at least 30 minutes per day working on your SEO - it pays to make that worthwhile investment every day for your site/company!

• You don't have to KNOW everything about SEO - there is a lot of contradictory information out there. Research different sites, resources, etc. and choose what works best for your site/company!

• Outsource SEO work to a professional if you don't feel like you know enough about SEO - however, it helps to know the basics of SEO. A good SEO expert will always steer you in the right direction so research REPUTABLE companies/agencies and make sure you hire a SEO pro!

Page Rank Changes Page Rank Changes - Hi Kevin - there is a lot of speculation as to why so many websites lost Page Rank. A few new sites that I've been following also got Page Rank for the first time. Every time Google does a Page Rank update there are websites that get caught in the crossfire and have to work to get their rankings back up!

www.tobuso.com and www.paperrollshop.com www.tobuso.com and www.paperrollshop.com - Please take a look at these and tell me what I should do. I am too close to them to see it objectively at this point. The main on is the tobuso.com one. The other is just a paper roll side bar project. I have had a guy working on tobuso.com for about 2 weeks or so. I really dont understand why it doesnt have any Google Page Rank yet. I am starting to move up in the rankings for my targeted keyword but I am lacking in the google Page Rank and cannot figure out why. I guess it may just take more time. See if that is what it looks like to you.
Re: Specific Strategies To Raise PR Levels? Re: Specific Strategies To Raise PR Levels? - After re-reading through the posts in this thread it seems to me like there might be a little confusion as to what Page Rank (PR) really is. For those who don't know... PR is a number between 1 and 10 that Google assigns to a web page based on it's importance. With 10 being the highest and most important. It's mainly determined by the number and quality of inbound links to the web page but there are other factors as well. It is NOT the ranking your site has in the Google search engine or any other search engine. If you are ranked #3 on google for "home business" that does not mean you have a PR of 3. They are completely separate things. Furthermore, PR does not determine how high a site ranks in the search engines. It's possible and very common for a site with a low PR to outrank and site with a higher PR for the same keyword phrase. If you want to raise your PR then you need more backlinks. Higher PR backlinks will pass more link juice to you and help raise it much easier. On that same note, if you want to increase your search engine rankings for a particular keyword then you also need more backlinks with the keyword you are targeting as the anchor text. When it comes to that, Page Rank and Search Engine Ranking Positions are very similar but that is it. People often think that they need high PR to get good search engine rankings and it is not true. They also tend to think that just because a site has high PR then it is better than a site with lower PR, that is also not always the case. One final thing about this is that the PR you see on your Google Toolbar for a web page only updates a few times per year and is not necessarily the actual PR for that page. The actual PR is stored at Google and is updated constanty, and is not shown to the public. Only they know what it really is. I hope that clears up some common misconceptions about Google Page Rank (PR).
Page Rank From Google Toolbar? Page Rank From Google Toolbar? - Google toolbar on my PC has a Page Rank button which ranks the current page and will list similar pages to the one that's currently open. I've also heard that some sites can fool the toolbar. I was wondering if the people here that use the Google toolbar have used that feature much?
