Market Like You're A Dentist

If you're a dentist, sorry, you'll have to sit this article out.

Although I've never had a dentist as a marketing "patient", the challenge of their marketing strategy is clear...

...how do you keep your name on the lips of your patients when they don't have a toothache.

When your tooth doesn't hurt, you aren't thinking about your tooth. On the other hand, when you have a toothache, it's all you think about.

Actually all marketers and businesses have this problem, it's just that the dentist example reveals a clear contrast. When people have toothaches, the dentist has no problem finding customers. Conversely, when your teeth don't hurt, you're invisible as a prospect.

So, for all of you non-dental business people, the trick is to keep your product, service or solution on the lips of your prospects and customers. If not on their lips, at least in the front of their minds. You want to own the number 1 position in their psyche.

Difficult challenge when you're working with a limited budget. But far from impossible.

Here's a magic bullet, step by step answer for you >

1. Develop a CRM system that prevents ANY prospect or customer from falling through the cracks.
2. Create an email, gentle follow up system (preferably with an auto-responder) that communicates with everyone.
3. Create new and fun products, one page newsletters, birthday cards, etc.
4. Send Thank You notes following an order (within 12 hours) -Handwritten, not an email.

You don't have to go the extra mile, but at least go the extra 200 feet past all your competitors. (You and I both know their customer service sucks).

This is your chance to shine.

The moral of this article: We're all toothache marketers.

Re: How should i promote a new website? Re: How should i promote a new website? - ignore this message IF it's already been stated. I haven't had a chance to read all the replies and i have to jet from the office... I suggest marketing where ever your Target Market congregates. If it's a forum of concerned parents - go there. Strike up a deal with the forum owner (JV) and have him promote it to the list of members (Integration Marketing). If you want to go with Forums then i would partner with a parent who is a frequent poster/moderator on a particular Target Market Forum and have him/her add your link to their signature. That was just a thought but it's not as intense once you get buy in from the Forum owner or high ranked poster/moderator. Hope that sparks some new ideas.

Re: What is the Best Franchise? Re: What is the Best Franchise? - As a franchise owner the things that I look for in a prospective franchise is: 1- A proven track record. Too many franchises try and branch out long before they have perfected their product, don't become a guinea pig for them to figure out what works and what doesnt. 2- Support. A good franchise should have great communication with it's franchisee's and be available to meet it's franchisees needs. Youre only contact with them shouldn't be when you have a problem. Good franchises involves it's franchisees in building it's business. 3- A Great System. McDonald's doesn't exactly make a good hamburger but they have an excellent system of conducting business. The real value in a franchise is the system, not necessarily the product. There are many other factors in deciding on a franchise but many of those are personal to you and your situation. The best thing to do is to conduct as much research as possible and speak with every current franchisee you can and get a feel for the franchise. garyshouldis.com
.. .. - We are the UK Market Leaders.....the first to venture into this on a huge scale. What makes this a success is the simplicity of the product and the price, very affordable to the mass market.
