The school mascot is an esteemed symbol for its students, teachers and the rest of the faculty through which they associate themselves to the institution and take pride in being a part of it. It is this symbol that the students grow up with and treasure as an everlasting memento which is etched in their minds for the years to come. Cheering for their sports team, wearing apparel items with the school mascot generates a school spirit in the students and encourages them to perform or achieve the best for their institution. There are various tools available which can help demonstrate the school spirit lying within each student. The advertising and marketing industry has a multitude of school-related products to facilitate building a brand identity for the institution and creating a whole school spirit around it.

There are promotional products which can be used as branding opportunities for institutions for various purposes. Promotional items can be given as rewards for exceptional performance and go long way in building a connection between the school and its students. It not only serves as an appreciation of the performers but also as a motivation and inspiration for others to aim higher. A graduation souvenir which can be customized to carry the school logo can be a great remembrance of one’s school experience.

Institutions can also form a link between them and the community by offering donations; these items with the school emblem on them can establish a significant symbiotic association with the community and bring about positive feelings towards the school.

A display of one’s school spirit is a gratifying feeling and has its own fun element. There are simple ways of having your students express support and bonding with the school.
Apparel items are the best ways to promote the school spirit and show support for the school. T-shirts, caps, sweatshirts carrying school name, logo or emblem, printed or embroidered, in the school’s colors can be made available to the students, faculty and alumni for various school celebrations to bring about their love for the school.

Fun items like clappers and foam fingers are great promotional items for sporting events, games or other exciting events. Not only do they help in forceful and loud cheering but also are conspicuous enough to seek attention and create a school spirit.

Bracelets in vinyl or silicon rubber can also be good promotional items for schools or colleges. You can have them made in the school colors, embossed with the school logo and have the students can wear these for certain extracurricular activities or to extend their support at pep rallies.
School bags or backpacks or binders with the school logo imprints can be customized to the student’s requirements and be used as promotional items to show support for the school.

Certain promotional items can be used as a perfect way to greet students back to school after vacation, besides encouraging school spirit. The best products to use could be those that help students get organized and also promote a fun and support spirit. Promotional calendars can be good examples to manage and organize school, work and fun time; also be used to display pictures of the school campus.

Re: Social Media Marketing - Corporate Vs. Small Business Re: Social Media Marketing - Corporate Vs. Small Business - [quote="WebBizIdeas.com":y4tmwxf6]Telling your dorky friends at school you are having a big party does nothing...having the coolest kid in school tell some people about your party is all it takes...that is Social Media Marketing. Jeff[/quote:y4tmwxf6] Hi Jeff, So what recommendations do you have for influencing the most popular "kid in school" (i.e. the person with the most influence in your related industry) to promote your products/services?
Simple Idea - Great Advice. Simple Idea - Great Advice. - Recently I was presented with the opportunity to bring an entrepreneur "into his own." Not only did I jump at the chance to do so, but I thought, wow, if only I had had that same kind of person offering to help me get started . . . all the headaches I would have saved!!! Anyways, I 'fell' into my business (promotional product sales) when I was the 'team-mom' for my son's wrestling team (some 15 years ago). Simply, almost overnight, every team and booster club in the high-school was ordering products from me (waterbottles, eye-black, seat cusions, t-shirts, pom-poms, hats, etc.) - it was a need that I simply organized a way to fill (every 4 years kids moved on and the role of booster club parent turned over to a new set of parents - I just offerred to do ordering for the teams each year and that is how things started! I look around and think, wow, if only someone had just presented me with that idea at some point in time - I had to 'create' my systems of sales and everything else that went into starting up a real business. So I really think anyone starting a business (or even just thinking about starting a business) needs to latch onto a mentor. Don't be afraid to ask! Every entrepreneur had to start out somewhere, and there is plenty of (free) help out there if your aren't sure where to turn or ask questions. So in terms of Promotional Product advertising - I am here to mentor anyone thinking about getting into the biz. I would encourage you to take a 'student' entrepreneur under your wing in your line of business. Who knows, you might even enjoy doing so too!
What financial education *do* kids receive in school? What financial education *do* kids receive in school? - I'm starting up this thread again, as I'd really like to know what kids and teens are taught about money management in school. I have no kids...and it's been 30 years since I was in school...so I don't really remember if we had any classes about how to handle money, how not to spend beyond our means, etc. I think most college students go into debt within the first year... not because of their college tuitions but because all of a sudden they're given a couple of credit cards and they go hogwild with them... The current mortgage crisis has been brought about, for the most part, because people were granted loans they couldn't afford... Most American families are two paychecks away from bankruptcy.... The vast percentage of Americans do not save as they should (even back when it you got 5% in your savings accounts - now its down to 1%!) and if they lose their jobs have little savings to fall back on while they look for a new one.
Ivy League vs. Affordable school Ivy League vs. Affordable school - To play devils Advocate .... Prestigious school vs. Education I can afford? Does going to a prestigious school gaurantee success? I'm sure it helps - imagine the contacts made - powerful I assume. Also there is the pressure of being an alma mater of a school where everyone else is driven to succeed by thier parents. But, what if you got the "Education you can afford". It's still education. You are forced to analyze, engage in relationships, manage your school mates, and deliver on deadlines. What's the common denominator when you get out of school? Is it the ability to take action? The ability to see the big picture and then take the necessary actions to bring a project to completion? There's that action word again! what do you think?
Facebook Business Page? Facebook Business Page? - I recently read somewhere that facebook has set up a business page directed towards products, brands, etc. Has anyone else heard of this? What are your opinions? Do you think it'll be an effective means of marketing?
